Matthew Lane has been appointed as Director of Front Office Operations at Hilton Waikoloa Village

In his new role, Lane will oversee all front office operations including guest service initiatives, corporate marketing programs and financial profitability while monitoring and developing team member performance. Departments of responsibility include front desk, concierge, communications, valet parking, transportation, and luggage service encompassing more than 80 team members.

Tim Owens has been appointed as Director of Property Operations at Hilton Waikoloa Village

As director of property operations, Owens is responsible for directing maintenance and functionality of the resort’s features across its 62 acres, ensuring safe and outstanding guest accommodations while protecting the sheltered habitats that are home to more than 46 species of exotic island wildlife. Owens’ duties include managing operations of the facility’s three freshwater swimming pools, the mahogany boats and tram operations, and the four-acre ocean-fed swimming and snorkeling lagoon.

Maria Caravalho has been appointed as assistant general manager at Wyndham Kona Hawaiian Resort

Caravalho was operations administrator since last year and prior held the same position for four years at the Kanaloa at Kona by Outrigger®. Before joining Outrigger, Caravalho helped to run her family’s farm, Peter J. Caravalho Farms, providing lei to Greeters of Hawaii on all islands. Earlier hospitality experience includes executive housekeeper at Kanaloa at Kona by Outrigger® and front office manager at Kona Reef.

Karen Villarmia has been appointed as assistant general manager at Wyndham at Waikiki Beach Walk®

For the past 10 years, Villarmia has been the general manager of the OHANA Waikiki West, and before that she held various management positions at the OHANA Waikiki Surf, OHANA Waikiki Surf East, OHANA Waikiki Malia and OHANA Maile Sky Court. She began her Outrigger career 27 years ago in the Wyndham at Waikiki Beach Walk® location, then the Outrigger Reef Towers, as front desk clerk/cashier. She said returning to begin a new chapter in her career is very exciting, and she is looking forward to joining the Wyndham ‘ohana.
