Mark Aldridge has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Denver

Prior to relocating to the Mile-High city, Mark served as Director of Sales and Marketing for The Waikiki Beach EDITION, the first luxury lifestyle hotel partnership between Ian Schrager and Marriott International. Previous to leading the opening efforts in Hawaii, he was Director of Sales and Marketing for the London Marriott Grosvenor Square. During his tenure in London, Mark also held several positions within the region’s sales office where he was instrumental in the area’s growth of market share.

James Steinbach has been named Director of Group Sales at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa

Steinbach returns to Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa where he served as Director of Sales and Marketing from 1988 – 2004 before working as the Vice President of Conference Sales for the Vail Valley Partnership and starting Q-A, LLC, a hospitality consulting business. Steinbach also draws sales experience from positions at Hyatt properties in New Orleans, Lake Tahoe and Greenville, S.C. Steinbach completed his schooling with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management and graduated with cume laude honors from the University of Wisconsin – Stout.

Rowland Cheeks has been appointed as Senior Sales Manager at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa

Cheeks joins the sales team at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa with more than 25 years of experience within the hospitality industry including roles in the areas of sales, food & beverage and guests services while working for companies such as Hyatt , Disney, Conferon/Experient, and Kinsley Meetings. Most recently, Cheeks was the Senior Sales Manager at Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs where he was responsible for corporate business within Colorado and the Western United States. Cheeks graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Arts in Business.

Colleen Pace has been appointed as Director of Sales at Cheyenne Mountain Resort

Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading US-based independent hospitality management company, has appointed Colleen Pace director of sales for Cheyenne Mountain Resort, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Todd Felsen, Benchmark’s general manager at the resort, made the announcement. Colleen Pace’s new appointment marks her return to Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Earlier in her career, Ms. Pace served as director of account management for the award-winning property. Most recently she held the position of director of group sales for the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa in Vail, Colorado. Ms. Pace has held similar sales positions at major brand hotels throughout Colorado. She is a member of the Colorado Society of Association Executives and Destination Colorado Association.

Jasper Verlaan has been appointed as Director of Sales at Magnolia Hotel Denver

Verlaan joins Magnolia Hotel Denver after working in hospitality sales and operations in The Netherlands. He most recently handled national corporate sales for Sandton Hotels group, a boutique hotel company that manages more than 20 properties in Western Europe. While at Sandton he was responsible for oversight of corporate, government, consortia and travel agent sales for the company. He also played an integral role in the company’s new business acquisition strategy overseeing hotel transitions when properties were brought into the collection. He holds a degree in international hospitality management from CHN University in The Netherlands and has a certificate of international business studies from the University of Maastricht. Verlaan is fluent in Dutch and German, and also speaks Spanish and French.

Jim Finnegan has been appointed as General Manager at Magnolia Hotel Denver

Finnegan brings nearly 25 years of hotel operations experience to the Magnolia Hotel Denver. He joined the company in 2009 in Omaha and immediately impacted the property by increasing its gross operating profit by more than 40 percent in his first year. In Omaha, Finnegan also was responsible for significant increases in quality assurance inspections, guest satisfaction indexes and associate satisfaction scores. Before joining the company, Finnegan worked for a number of hotel companies in corporate, multi-unit and general manager roles. He’s worked with a selection of independent hotels in San Diego, Phoenix and Denver as well as brands such as La Quinta and Best Western International. Finnegan received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Creighton University. He’s been an active member of the hospitality communities in which he resides including serving on the board of directors for the Omaha Metropolitan Hospitality Association and the Nebraska Hotel & Lodging Association. Finnegan is relocating to Denver with his wife, Nicole, and their triplets Shelby, Kelly and Shamus.

Jim Mikula has been appointed as Managing Director at Hotel Madeline Telluride & Inn At Lost Creek

Ektornet US, Inc. has announced the appointment of Jim Mikula as Managing Director of Hotel Madeline Telluride and the Inn at Lost Creek in Telluride, Colorado. Bringing enviable experience in managing multi-faceted businesses at the top end of the hospitality industry, Mikula is responsible for all operations at the Colorado Rocky Mountain luxury addresses, including assuring a 5-Star guest experience and successful sales and marketing efforts at both properties. Mikula spent 11 years with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, finishing as Area Director of Marketing with regional sales and marketing responsibility for 10 hotels in the Asia Pacific region. He arrived in Telluride following an extended run as General Manager at upscale properties including Boot Ranch, a luxury community and private club in Fredericksburg, Texas; Baronette Renaissance Hotel Novi, a boutique hotel in Novi, Michigan; and Cornerstone Colorado, a luxury community and private club located between Montrose and Telluride. Born and raised on a horse ranch in Sacramento, CA, Mikula earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hotel Administration from University of Nevada Las Vegas.

Ira Bahr has been appointed as Chief Marketing Officer at Inspirato

Inspirato, the destination club for a new generation of luxury consumers, is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Ira Bahr as its Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to joining Inspirato in December 2011, Bahr was the Chief Marketing Officer at Dish Network, the third largest provider of pay television in the U.S. with more than 14 million subscribers. As head of Dish’s marketing division, Bahr was responsible for customer acquisition, customer retention, product technology and corporate communications. Bahr began his career at BBDO, one of the world’s largest advertising agencies. He ultimately rose to Senior Vice President and Worldwide Account Director, working with such clients as FedEx, Pepsi-Cola and General Electric.

Guy Tomlinson has been appointed as Controller at Cheyenne Mountain Resort

Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading U.S.-based hospitality management company, has named Guy Tomlinson controller for Cheyenne Mountain Resort, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Todd M. Felsen, Benchmark’s general manager at the resort, made the announcement. Guy Tomlinson was previously director of financial services for the Colorado Springs Marriott Hotel. He has also held management positions within finance at major communications, data processing and hospitality management companies. Additionally, Tomlinson has served as adjunct professor for Pikes Peak Community College.

Ana Lucero has been appointed as Small Meetings Specialist at The Westin Westminster

Lucero joins The Westin Westminster sales team from the Metro North Chamber of Commerce where she worked in Membership Development and Sales. Prior to that, she served as a Senior Sales Manager at the Embassy Suites Denver-Aurora. A graduate of Colorado State University, Lucero previously held sales positions at the Hilton Garden Inn Denver South/Meridian and the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Ken Stone has been named General Manager at Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa

Boasting more than 20 years of experience in resort operations and management, with a background in integrated marketing for a wide range of products and services, Stone most recently held the position of Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Previously, Stone held the position of Senior Vice President for Telluride Ski & Golf Resort, where he was responsible for all commercial operations. Stone entered the hospitality field as Vice President of Durango Ski Corporation in Durango, Colorado, followed by a position as Director of Sales & Marketing for Sheraton Tamarron Resort, also located in Durango, then held a similar position at The Peaks Resort & Golden Door Spa in Telluride, Colorado.

Todd M. Felsen has been named General Manager at Cheyenne Mountain Resort

Todd Felsen was most recently managing director for The Claremont Hotel Club & Spa, located in Berkeley, California. He previously served as vice president for a Florida-based hospitality management company. Mr. Felsen has held the title of general manager for several luxury hotels and resorts in destinations within Florida and Jamaica. He began his career in the rooms department at major brand properties in Florida, Hawaii and Tennessee, eventually serving as director of rooms. Mr. Felsen received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami. He is relocating to Colorado Springs with his family.

Dennis Lesko has been named Vice President of Marketing at The Broadmoor

Mr. Lesko served in the same capacity for the Forbes Five Star and AAA Five Diamond resort from 1993 until 2001. Before originally joining The BROADMOOR in 1993, Mr. Lesko represented Marriott Corporation as Director of Sales and Marketing in Hilton Head, North Carolina, as well as in Hawaii and at the Orlando World Center. He was also head of sales training for Marriott Corporate and twice was named as Director of Sales and Marketing of the Year for all Marriott properties. When he left The BROADMOOR in 2001, Mr. Lesko went to the Cloister at Sea Island as Vice President of Sales and Marketing before being named as Regional Vice President of Marketing with Ritz-Carlton Hotels.

Chris Claydon has been appointed as Senior Sales Manager at The Westin Westminster

Claydon most recently served as a Sales Manager at the Sheraton Downtown Denver Hotel. Prior to that, he worked in sales for the Vallagio at Inverness by Metropolitan Homes in Englewood, the Resort at Squaw Creek in Lake Tahoe, Calif. and the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa in Vail. A graduate of Northern Arizona University, Claydon also holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in Lonetree. From 2006-2007, he founded and ran Meetings For the Minds, a Littleton-based meeting site selection company.
