As Executive Sous Chef, Stanley is responsible for supporting Executive Chef Stuart Race and the culinary team by overseeing the day-to-day culinary operations for the hotel meeting and banquet spaces, in-room dining, and three hotel dining options: The Kitchen Table Restaurant and Lounge, a full-service restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering authentic American cuisine; Draft Media Sports Lounge, a sports nirvana featuring more than a dozen local and international draft beers, 23 flat-screen TVs and signature menu items such as pizzas and burgers; and Peet’s Coffee and Tea, a shop serving grab-and-go items such as breakfast and lunch sandwiches, sweets and specialty coffee drinks.

Shannon brings more than twenty years of executive experience in the fields of hospitality and technology to his new role at the recently transformed hotel. In his position, Shannon will manage all aspects of the sales and marketing division, including leading strategic initiatives and executing dynamic campaigns that will continue the growth and recognition of The Highland. A decorated alumnus of the US Naval Academy and a University of Maryland graduate, Shannon has directed a number of highly successful teams in the industry. Most recently, Shannon was general manager of the Hilton Melbourne Rialto Place in Florida where he was named “GM of the Year” by Expotel Hospitality. Previous experience includes the role of director of sales & marketing for properties such as the Hilton & Doubletree Melbourne Beach Oceanfront in Florida, the Doubletree Dallas Market Center in Texas and the Lodge of Four Seasons Golf Resort & Spa in Missouri. Additionally, Shannon founded Kelly Hospitality Consulting, a consulting group that provides clients with marketing, public relations and task force sales and operations training.

Vanessa Claspill has been appointed as Regional Director of Sales & Marketing at The Line Hotel

Vanessa Claspill will be taking on the position of Regional Director of Sales & Marketing. In this role she will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of direct sales and property marketing for the current Radisson Hotel and Suites Austin, which will remain open during the renovation process. Most importantly, she will lead direct sales and marketing efforts surrounding the launch of The Line Austin and will work closely with the creative and development teams to help define and solidify the foundation of The Line in the unique city of Austin.

Jorge Gonzalez has been appointed as Chef de Cuisine at The Highland Dallas

A seasoned professional with a stellar track record of culinary successes, Gonzalez is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations at the hotel’s acclaimed restaurant, Knife. A Texas native, Gonzalez first earned an appreciation for culinary arts working on his grandfather’s farm. This work inspired him to earn a degree in Culinary Arts from Collin County Community College in McKinney, Texas. Prior to joining The Highland Dallas, he served as Sous Chef at the celebrated Fearing’s Restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton in Dallas for more than eight years. Additionally, Gonzalez assisted in opening Chef Tom Colicchio’s renowned restaurant, Craft, at the W Hotel in Dallas. Gonzalez began his culinary career working at Jasper’s in Plano, Texas, where he received extensive training and honed his culinary and leadership skills.

Jacques D’Rovencourt has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton Americas-Houston

Hilton Americas-Houston announced today the appointment of Jacques D’Rovencourt as general manager of Houston’s largest hotel, located in the heart of downtown and directly connected to the George R. Brown Convention Center via two indoor sky bridges, effectively immediately. D’Rovencourt will take over for Joe Palmieri who has retired after 28 years with the Hilton Worldwide and eight years at Hilton Americas-Houston. He will report to Area Vice President, Andy Slater.

Valery Welton has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at Hotel Contessa, San Antonio

The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, March 2016… Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading U.S.-based hospitality management company, has appointed Valery Welton director of human resources for Hotel Contessa, a Benchmark Hotel located on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas. Troy Mathews, general manager for the luxury suites property, made the announcement. Valery Welton previously served as shipboard human resources manager for Viking Ocean Cruises based in Basel, Switzerland, and for Royal Caribbean International, based in Miami, Florida. Prior to this, Ms. Welton was human resources director for the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama. Ms. Welton is a graduate of Kansas State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She is relocating to San Antonio.

Atlanta-based Hotel Equities announced Jemel Jones as the General Manager of the all-new DoubleTree by Hilton DFW Arlington South, in Arlington, Texas.Mr. Jones came to Hotel Equities from Transformance, Inc. where he spearheaded the firm’s re-branding. He previously held a series of leadership positions with Hilton Hotels building on nearly 20 years of experience in hospitality. Early in his career, as the Director of Rooms Operations & Revenue Management for the DoubleTree New Orleans, he managed day-to-day operations. From there, Hilton tapped him to provide revenue management and develop strategies to achieve revenue and sales goals for five Hilton branded hotels.

Enrico Glaudo has been appointed as Executive Chef at Hotel Granduca Houston

A global culinarian with more than 35 years of experience, Glaudo leads all dining operations at the crown jewel of the Granduca Hotels hospitality group. In his new role, Glaudo’s responsibilities include menu creation for Ristorante Cavour, Bar Malatesta and in-room dining service, as well as banqueting for meetings and special events clientele.
