Michelle Russell has been appointed as Global Sales Manager at ALHI

Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) has expanded its Global Sales team in the U.S. Midwest with the addition of Michelle Russell as Global Sales Manager. Based in ALHI’s new Global Sales office in Minnesota, she assists meeting professionals, association executives, incentive specialists and business executives across the United States who are interested in conducting meetings, conventions and/or incentive programs at any of ALHI’s member hotels and resorts. ALHI Global Luxury Sales’ distinguished portfolio features more than 250 luxury and upper-upscale hotels and resorts around the world, which are either independent or are with an independent hotel brand, and which specialize in serving meetings and incentive programs. The announcement was made by ALHI’s Chief Sales Officer Mark Sergot. A highly accomplished hospitality industry sales executive, Russell brings more than 25 years of experience in the luxury meetings and incentive sector to her new position. Prior to joining ALHI she was Vice President, Global Accounts for HPN Global. Previous to that, she was with Hyatt Hotels Corporation, which includes serving Hyatt Global Sales for three years as Director, Strategic Accounts and for seven years as Director, Account Development. Her tenure with the company also includes serving as Director of National Sales for Hyatt’s Western Global Sales team, and as Sales Manager for Hyatt Regency Cambridge in Massachusetts. Among the many honors bestowed on her was being named Hyatt Hotels’ “National Sales Manager of the Year.”

Graduate Minneapolis is now open

Graduate Minneapolis, the brand"s milestone 10th hotel, is now open. Wilkinson Development Breaks Ground on The Elliot Park Hotel

Construction is commencing on the Elliot Park Hotel, a new Marriott® Autograph Collection® luxury full-service hospitality project in downtown Minneapolis, MN. Yakima, WA-based developer, Wilkinson Development, LLC, is proud to be spearheading the Elliot project. Wilkinson Development is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wilkinson Corporation. A symbolic groundbreaking ceremony was held at the project site on Tuesday, August 1, commemorating the partnership of companies and joint venture investors involved in the Elliot"s design and start of construction. Over the last year, Wilkinson Development (WD) has formed partnerships with key industry leaders to bring the vision of the Elliot to fruition. The total hotel project cost is estimated at $50 million. On June 30, 2017, WD closed on the acquisition of the hotel development site and will continue to oversee project construction, with an anticipated opening date in late summer/early fall 2018. The Elliot Park Hotel will be a 168-room, eight-story, full-service hotel in one of Minneapolis" oldest downtown neighborhoods. It will offer over 2,300 square feet of high-end event space and boardrooms, a fireside lounge, fitness center, valet, concierge, and luxury guest rooms. Its central location will provide easy access to the Convention Center and other event venues, like the U.S. Bank Stadium. Tavola, the hotel"s farm-to-table Italian restaurant, will include the warm, inviting feeling and decidedly l ocal brand of hospitality echoed throughout the property. The hotel is part of a larger block redevelopment that includes: the new corporate headquarters of Kraus-Anderson, one of WD"s partners and the project site"s master developer and general contractor; a 17-story residential apartment tower currently underway; a microbrewery; and outdoor common areas and underground parking.

Geneya Sauro has been appointed as General Manager at Loews Minneapolis Hotel

Construction of Homewood Suites at Southdale Begins

Crews broke ground today on Edina's newest hotel. Homewood Suites by Hilton – a four-story, 146-room, all-suites hotel – is expected to open early fall 2018. Part of the continued evolution of the shopping, dining, entertainment and residential destination, the hotel will be located at the northeast corner of the Southdale parking lot and will include meeting space, a fitness room, an indoor swimming pool, a lobby bar, a patio with a fire pit, and an outdoor cooking area.

Andrew Skobe has been appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Carlson Hotels, Inc.

IHG Announces Construction Milestone at InterContinental Hotel Coming to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport

First Hotel in 50 Years Coming to Lake Minnetonka

Hay Creek Hotels, a full service management company, announced plans for The Hotel Landing, slated to be the first hotel on the shores of Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota in more than 50 years. The boutique hotel will open its doors in Wayzata in June 2017. The Hotel Landing is locally owned by BohLand Hotel Group, managed by Hay Creek Hotels, and designed by The Cuningham Group.
