Rich Higdon has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt Centric Mountain View

Hyatt Centric Mountain View, slated to open mid-July, announces an executive leadership team with more than eight decades of combined hospitality experience. OTO Development, part of The Johnson Group, is developing and will manage the new hotel. Rich Higdon has been appointed as general manager of the 167-room lifestyle hotel in the heart of Silicon Valley. Before taking the helm of Hyatt Centric Mountain View, Higdon worked as opening general manager for Hyatt Place Emeryville/San Francisco Bay Area. He previously held a variety of leadership roles at Hilton, including a 15-year stint as general manager of Hilton Santa Cruz/Scotts Valley, as well as independent hotels. His first hospitality job was working as a bellhop at the nearby Cupertino Inn. This early emphasis on guest service has held him in good stead, leading to career accolades including the Conrad Hilton Award and a Property of the Year Award from Interstate Hotels & Resorts. 

Keith Battaglia has been appointed as Director of Sales at Hyatt Centric Mountain View

Hyatt Centric Mountain View, slated to open mid-July, announces an executive leadership team with more than eight decades of combined hospitality experience. OTO Development, part of The Johnson Group, is developing and will manage the new hotel. Director of Sales Keith Battaglia began his hospitality career in high school, bussing tables at the Holiday Inn in Auburn, N.Y. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in international relations from Boston University, focusing on business and economics while minoring in Spanish. "I'm delighted to lead the sales effort at Hyatt Centric Mountain View," says Battaglia, whose hospitality career has included sales and marketing roles at a yacht club, a luxury ranch and a glamping resort as well as conference centers and hotels under the Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt brands. "I've worked with a variety of intriguing properties over the years, but nothing compares to the excitement of showing clients everything this unique new hotel has to offer."In addition to guest rooms accessorized with local art, Hyatt Centric Mountain View will offer lively meeting space - both inside and out - with an elegant ballroom featuring floor-to-ceiling glass walls that slide open to access al fresco seating. With 10,000 square feet of function space and full-service catering, the property will accommodate requests for special events up to 500 people.

Bryan Showalter has been appointed as Executive Chef at Hyatt Centric Mountain View

Hyatt Centric Mountain View, slated to open mid-July, announces an executive leadership team with more than eight decades of combined hospitality experience. OTO Development, part of The Johnson Group, is developing and will manage the new hotel. Bryan Showalter has been named executive chef of Fairchilds Public House, the hotel's restaurant and bar. 

$30 Million Renovation of Sheraton Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco Completed

Diego Ruiz De Porras has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at Hotel Casa del Mar

Hotel Casa del Mar, an Edward Thomas Collection property, has announced the appointment of Diego Ruiz de Porras as the oceanfront property's Director of Food & Beverage. In his new role, Ruiz de Porras will manage all culinary operations for the Santa Monica luxury hotel, including overseeing service and guest experience at Catch American Seafood and all-day-dining concept Terrazza Lounge.

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts to Expand Bay Area Portfolio with Addition of Second Hotel in San Francisco

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, the world's leading luxury hospitality company, has been selected by an affiliate of Westbrook Partners, a privately-owned, fully integrated real estate investment management company, to manage its hotel in the 345 California Center building in San Francisco's financial district. Currently known as the Loews Regency San Francisco, the Hotel will be renamed Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco at Embarcadero in 2020 following renovations.

Steven Adyani has been appointed as General Manager at The Guild Hotel

Adyani is an Accomplished hotelier and restaurateur, best known for leading celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's US operations and for his innovative work for Steve Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas. As Vice President of Operations for Chef Ramsay, he designed and opened the highly anticipated Hell's Kitchen Restaurant (Las Vegas), Gordon Ramsay Steak (Atlantic City). Additionally, he was part of Ramsay's FOX primetime productions of "The F Word'' and "24 Hours to Hell & Back" TV shows. In his previous role as General Manager at Wynn and Encore, Las Vegas, Adyani attainded Forbes Five Star accolades four years in a row and earlier in his carreer, as Vice President of Compass Group, Adyani re-concepted and opened James Beard award recipient and Michelin Star Winning Spiaggia Café By Chef Tony Mantuano.

Justin Vaiciunas has been appointed as Executive Chef at The Guild Hotel

Chef Vaiciunas, a native of Detroit, graduated from the Schoolcraft College Culinary Arts Program and began his career at the prestigious Detroit Athletic Club, which has been home to multiple certified Master Chefs. His accolades from his time in Detroit include Best Chef from the Detroit Metro Times, Best Restaurant for Top of the Pontch from the Detroit Free Press, and Up and Coming Chef from Metro Detroit, which heralded his artistic culinary point ofview and creative eye for presentation and unique flavor profiles in his menus. Upon leaving his hometown of Detroit, Chef Vaiciunas moved to Chicago for acorporatechef position and subsequently worked in Salt Lake City and most recently in Miami at the Local House Restaurant on Ocean Drive .Chef Vaiciunasalso went on to compete on the Food Network's "Cutthroat Kitchen" with celebrity chef Alton Brown. He relocated to San Diego in early 2019 to join the team at The Guild.

Urban Commons Completes Two-Year Multi-Million Dollar Renovation of 311-Room Sheraton Pasadena Hotel

The Sheraton Pasadena Hotel has completed a two-year multi-million dollar renovation, it was announced today by Carlos Mendoza, General Manager. Given a genuine passion for people, all things F&B, and old-fashioned, Southern hospitality, Alexis Hansen may have found her dream job as the Director of Food and Beverage at AC Hotel Los Angeles South Bay. With a decade of experience, Hansen brings positivity and creativity to every task, and will oversee all F&B operations at the property from the European breakfast spread at the AC Kitchen, to business lunches at the AC Lounge to Happy Hour around the fire pit at the hotel's rooftop restaurant and bar. She graduated from University of North Carolina Charlotte and honed her skills working for various hospitality establishments including 1212 Santa Monica, Delaware North, the foodservice operator of Petco Park stadium in San Diego, and most recently, Blackhouse Hospitality Group. Hector E. Martinez has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at AC Hotel Los Angeles South Bay

Welcome Group, Inc., the El Segundo-based hospitality group behind the South Bay's most buzzed about new property, has named Hector E. Martinez as Director of Sales and Marketing. Hector Martinez, a longtime South Bay resident and the 3rd generation in his family to work in hospitality, brings 14 years of professional experience to his new role as AC Hotel Los Angeles South Bay's Director of Sales and Marketing. Martinez started his career in the industry as a Front Desk Agent at the Renaissance Los Angeles Airport and has worked his way up at a number of hotels including the Hilton Long Beach, Residence Inn Long Beach Waterfront, and most recently as the Associate Director of Sales at Long Beach Marriott. In his new role, Martinez will be responsible for leading sales strategies, marketing initiatives, and maximizing revenue streams. Both a father and a foodie, Martinez is stoked about being a part of an evolving hospitality scene in his own backyard.

Camila Frederico has been named Hotel Manager at The Westin St. Francis

Camila Frederico has been named Hotel Manager of The Westin St. Francis where she will be responsible for assisting the area general manager with staffing, directing, and supervising this historic 1,195-room hotel on San Francisco's Union Square. In her new position, she will lead all operational departments including rooms, food & beverage, events, and engineering. Frederico comes to The Westin St. Francis from W San Francisco where she served as Director of Operations. Prior to this role, she was at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, starting as Assistant Director of Food & Beverage and transitioning to Director of Rooms where she oversaw a $36 million renovation of the guestrooms and spa. Previously, she was at The Ritz-Carlton, Phoenix as Assistant Director of Meetings and Special Events. Frederico graduated with a B.A. in Economics from the University Mackenzie in São Paulo, Brazil. She also holds an M.A. in Journalism from the University Casper-Libero in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
