Nobu Hotel Eden Roc is pleased to announce two new appointments to the soon-to-open hotel: Ana Hernandez will be joining as the Director of Catering and Justin McCray has been promoted to the position of Group Sales Manager for the mid-Atlantic. Both Hernandez and McCray are currently supervising their respective departments in their current roles at Eden Roc Miami Beach until the opening of Nobu Hotel Eden Roc. The appointments are part of Eden Roc Miami Beach’s transformation into a Nobu-inspired experience that will feature a Nobu Hotel-within-a-hotel and Nobu Miami, the beloved South Beach outpost of Nobu’s global empire.

Kayleigh Pascual has been appointed as Assistant Spa Director at Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa

Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, the largest full-service beachfront resort hotel on Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast, has announced the appointment of Kayleigh Pascual as the resort’s new assistant spa director. In this position, Pascual will assist in all aspects of spa operation at resort’s award-winning Serenity by the sea Spa.

Armando Galeas has been appointed as Executive Chef at Costa d’Este Beach Resort & Spa

Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading U.S.-based hospitality management company, has named Armando Galeas executive chef for Costa d’Este Beach Resort & Spa, a Personal Luxury property located in Vero Beach, Florida. Chad Olson, Benchmark’s general manager at the resort, made the announcement. Armando Galeas was previously chef de cuisine for Temple Orange at the Eau Palm Beach Resort and Spa, located in Manalapan, Florida. During his tenure there, the resort obtained the prestigious Forbes 5 Star rating and successfully maintained its 5 Diamond status. Chef Galeas has also served in culinary leadership positions for the PGA National Resort and Spa of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, as well as the Boca Raton Resort & Club, located in Boca Raton, Florida. Earlier in his culinary career, Mr. Galeas was part of the opening team for Celebrity Chef Emeril Lagasse’s Emeril’s Miami Beach and Emeril’s Tchoup Chop, Orlando, restaurants. Chef Galeas was born in La Ceiba, Honduras, where he learned the joy of cooking at an early age in the kitchen with his mother and grandmother. This love of cooking with family continues to this day with his wife and young daughter. Mr. Galeas is a graduate of Saint Isidro College in Honduras. He has also held a culinary apprenticeship with Delgado Community College in New Orleans. Chef Galeas and his family are relocating to Vero Beach.

Sean McCarron has been appointed as General Manager at Waldorf Astoria Orlando

Menze Heroian has been appointed as Director of Food and Beverage at Hilton Orlando

Hilton Orlando announced the appointment of Menze Heroian as director of food and beverage, Kidane Futwi as director of banquets and Jimmy Reyes as head chef for Hilton Orlando’s award winning steakhouse, Spencer’s for Steaks and Chops. The three industry veterans bring more than 60 years of combined food service excellence to the 1,417 room multifunctional hotel. Already a force to be reckoned with, Heroian will apply his past two years of property knowledge and nearly 30 years of experience in food and banquet operations to manage the breadth of culinary programs throughout Hilton Orlando. Heroian will oversee food and beverage programming for the hotel’s seven dining options including five full-service restaurants, a marketplace, lobby bar, in-room dining, and the property’s extensive meetings and events spaces. Prior to joining the property, Menze served as director of food and beverage for Celebrity Cruises, vice president of food and beverage for the Tishman Hotel Corporation, and director of food and beverage at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort.

Sylvia Martinez has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at ME Miami

Joining Melia is Sylvia Martinez as the hotel’s Director of Sales and Marketing. Martinez brings over 16 years of sales, revenue management and marketing experience at hotels worldwide and the Miami market. Martinez developed her career through a series of appointments with luxury and lifestyle hotels including W South Beach, Biltmore Hotel, and most recently, DOSM for Hersha Hospitality. In her new role at ME Miami, Martinez will oversee sales and revenue management initiatives, using her extensive experience and strong skills and also providing leadership on the day-to-day operations of the Sales and Marketing team while maintaining focus on the hotel’s strategic plans to meet the brand’s revenue goals.

Jonathan M. Raz has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at Waldorf Astoria Orlando and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek

Waldorf Astoria Orlando and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, two premier hotels surrounded by the Walt Disney World® Resort, have appointed Jonathan M. Raz as director of food and beverage. With nearly 20 years of experience in food and banquet operations, Raz will manage the culinary program for the entire dual-hotel property, including 12 restaurant and bar outlets, in-room dining for 1,498 guest rooms and the extensive 175,000 square foot banquet facility. Raz has dedicated the majority of his career to the development of culinary programs at a variety of properties under in Hilton Hotels & Resorts portfolio. Most recently, he served as director of food and beverage for Hilton Orlando, where, under his leadership, the property was awarded Hilton Worldwide’s highest honor, The Connie Award, three times during his five-year tenure – an unprecedented accolade. Prior to this position, Raz assisted with the opening of Hilton Baltimore, the city’s largest and newest convention center hotel and also held the role of assistant director of banquets at Waldorf Astoria New York, where he gained comprehensive experience in complex banquet operations, overseeing the production of presidential dinners, galas and exclusive gatherings for up to 1,800 guests.

Tina Gerson has been appointed as Director of Sales at Nobu Hotel Eden Roc

Gerson brings more than 15 years of luxury hospitality sales focused experience in the Florida region and a network to her new role. Previously, she held sales director roles at The Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, FL and spent more than 10 years at Loews Miami Beach where she led benchmark corporate, association and third party accounts from the Midwest and New York markets. Gerson brings knowledge of the local Florida and key international travel markets to her new position.
