First-Ever GBTA Sustainability Benchmark Reveals Gaps to Decarbonize Business Travel Programs, Calls for Accelerated Corporate Action to Reach Net Zero Targets

The GBTA Foundation, the charitable arm of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), today unveiled findings from its Sustainability Acceleration Challenge, an industry-first global benchmarking initiative to evaluate the current state of business travel programs and the actions being taken by organizations to decarbonize them. The findings reveal that organizations have much work to do to accelerate the integration of practices if they are to materially reduce their business travel emissions, in line with corporate Net Zero targets by 2050.

Marriott Bonvoy Launches 'Connect Responsibly' Program to Promote Sustainable Meetings and Events

Marriott International, Inc. (Marriott) today announced the launch of Connect Responsibly with Marriott Bonvoy Events (Connect Responsibly), a program designed to help meeting planners embed sustainability into their events at participating hotels in the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. Connect Responsibly plans to offer meetings and events customers access to detailed Meeting Impact Reports to measure the environmental impact of their events and select options to purchase carbon credits. The program is anticipated to go live at managed and franchised properties from participating brands globally by the end of October.
