Christina Cabrera has been appointed as Director of Spa and Fitness at La Quinta Resort & Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort

La Quinta Resort & Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort announces the appointment of Christina Cabrera as Director of Spa and Fitness. The original desert hideaway and longtime favorite escape of the Hollywood elite, La Quinta Resort & Club offers a holistic wellness experience beginning at the 23,000 square-foot Spa La Quinta and state-of-the-art fitness center. Cabrera will oversee operations and programming at Spa La Quinta, including spa menu development, product selection and the creation of seasonal promotions. Cabrera will also manage the resort's extensive fitness program that includes a wide variety of complimentary classes such as high-intensity spin, TRX, rejuvenating flow yoga and meditation.

Penka Sevova has been promoted to General Manager at Springer-Miller Systems

The spa industry's growth and the increased demand for SpaSoft's products and services have led SMS to redefine the SpaSoft product group within the SMS organization with Penka at its helm. Penka will continue to lead the evolution of our Spa System Solutions at SMS. Shane Kelly has been appointed as Director of Spa at The JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa

Shane is joining Marriott from the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago where he was the Director of Spa Operations. Prior to Chicago, Shane was the Director of Spa for the Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo; Director of Spa Operations for the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa and Spa Director for the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas. Shane obtained his B.A. in Business Administration with an emphasis in International Business from Ashford University and has been in the hospitality industry for 24 years. He has a passion for cultural endeavors and enjoys traveling with his wife, daughter and son.

Yenier Marrero has been appointed as Director of Spa & Fitness at Naples Grande Beach Resort

Kathleen McNichols has been appointed as Spa Director at Vista Collina Resort

With an extensive background in spa and wellness, specifically within the hospitality industry, Spa Director Kathleen McNichols brings creativity to producing a luxurious and reputable spa program at Vista Collina Resort through its sister property, Meritage Resort and Spa, where Vista Collina Resort guests have full access to. In her role, she will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of spa and wellness operations at Meritage Resort and Spa and Vista Collina Resort. Prior to joining Vista Collina Resort, McNichols served as a consultant for Spa Solutions as well as held previous leadership roles, including director of spa at Resort at Squaw Creek for over 10 years and an esthetician at Vail Resorts.

Tiffany Abercrombie has been appointed as Spa Manager at Rosewood Baha Mar

Tiffany Abercrombie joins Rosewood Baha Mar with almost 15 years of experience in the spa and wellness industry. She most recently served as the director of salon and spa of Mokara Salon and Spa at Omni Mandalay Hotel in Irving, Texas, overseeing its spa treatments, retail offerings and internal staff training and education. Prior to her most recent role, Abercrombie was the director of spa and fitness at Hotel Crescent Court, formerly Rosewood Crescent Hotel and Spa in Dallas, Texas. She began her career in Culver City, California as a general manager for Burke Williams Day Spa, developing the customer service standards and operations of the company. She is a member of several professional associations within the spa industry, including the International Spa Association and the Day Spa Association.

Robert “Prince” James has been appointed as Eco Wellness Journey Guide at Pier South Resort

Robert “Prince” James, Eco Wellness Journey Guide – Robert has the distinction of being the very first person named for this position at the eco-friendly hotel that has recently begun a program encouraging guests to try an array of different local experiences – such as bike riding to the nearby important ecological preserve, the Tijuana Estuary; horseback riding on the beach, paddleboard lessons; rooftop yoga class, and more – so each guest can create their own Eco Wellness experience no matter how long a stay. In his new role, Robert leads guests on daily complimentary bike rides to the estuary and also hosts the nightly Sunset Celebration on the resort’s rooftop/lounge with a sweeping view of the Pacific. Born in Trinidad, Robert has had his eye on the hospitality industry since he was 17 years old and applied at the Hyatt Hotel on the island. While on the island, he was a member of the Key Club and received extensive technical and service training. He came to San Diego to visit his brother, who is in the Navy, and never left. With a goal of owning his own hotel in Trinidad one day, Robert also enjoys filling in for positions throughout the hotel as needed and is excited to live only four blocks from the property.

Kristin Ligouri has been promoted to Spa Director at Spa Anjali at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Beaver Creek Mountain

Ligouri joined The Westin Riverfront family in 2011 to serve as a Spa Anjali Supervisor and has continuously worked her way up by proving that she is ready for the next challenge. Ligouri began her spa career at the Vail Cascade’s Aria Spa; she also started and operated a small company called Rocky Mountain Reindeer with her now husband, where she learned the importance of effective operations and administration.

Ingrid Middaugh has been promoted to Director of Spa Anjali & The Athletic Club at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Beaver Creek Mountain

Middaugh has been serving as the Director of Spa Anjali since 2013. A graduate of Central Michigan University, Middaughpreviously served as the Spa Director at the Vail Cascade Resort. Under her leadership, Spa Anjali has earned many industry kudos, including being named one of the “Top 25 U.S. Spas” by Conde Nast Traveler, a “Favorite Green Spa” by American Spa Magazineand a “Top Green Spa” by Organic Spa Magazine. In her new position, Middaugh will be joining The Westin Riverfront’s Executive Committee and also overseeing the Athletic Club at The Westin, which offers more than 60 group exercise classes per week, along with extensive special wellness programming, including yoga workshops, triathlete training sessions and nutrition counseling.
