Minister of Tourism joins top line up to debate opportunities in Africa

The Minister of Tourism and Handicraft for the Kingdom of Morocco has agreed to join a line up of speakers for the forthcoming Hotel Investment Conference Africa in Morocco. HE Yassir Zenagui, Minister of Tourism and Handicraft, Kingdom of Morocco said "HICA is a ground breaking event for Africa. For Morocco to attract this calibre of conference, will help support and deliver our 2020 vision for tourism in the region. For the rest of Africa it will help build a better appreciation of the potential within the continent."

Nigeria: 3 Months in Jail for Stealing Hotel Towels | abcnews.go.com

A woman now faces up to three months in jail just for taking two towels from a hotel room. A court in Nigeria has convicted Bilikisu Dowodu of stealing the towels from the Transcorp Hilton Abuja Hotel, in the country's capital city. She now has to either pay a $20 fine or spend three months in jail.

In Sierra Leone's capital, Freetown, a hotel made famous by author Graham Greene has come to symbolise a country caught in a cycle of conflict and decay. It was only a pile of rubble but it had a powerful effect on me. I was standing on the crummy corner where Gloucester and Lightfoot Boston streets meet, hoping not to be run down by swarming Okada motorbike taxis or pick-pocketed by street kids.
