Digital Innovation Asia announces winners for the 2nd DIA Awards

After the DIA E-Tourism Asia Boot Camp in Bangkok, Thailand, Digital Innovation Asia announced the winners and runner ups in each of the five categories, as well as presented the Top 5 Digital Innovators. Both the DIA E-Tourism Asia Boot-Camp, as well as the DIA Awards was free to attend for registered attendees, due to the generous sponsorship by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), and Digital Innovation Asia (DIA), as well as the support of many partners from travel trade media and the tourism industry.

India's luxury hotels swap global brands as revenues slump | scmp.com

Less than nine months after opening the first hotel in Mumbai under its brand, Hong Kong luxury chain operator Shangri-La Asia handed the keys back to the owner. Now, United States-based Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide is in talks with the same owner to take over management of the property under its St Regis brand, people familiar with the matter said, as part of a shake-out in the luxury segment of India’s ailing hotel industry.

Aqua Hospitality To Assume Management Of Two Hotels In Guam

Hawaii-based Aqua Hospitality, founded in 2001, has announced it will assume management of two hotels in Guam beginning in December 2013. The two additional properties brings the number of hotels in the company's portfolio to 26. The new management contracts represent a milestone for Aqua as they will be the company's first hotels outside of Hawaii. The two Guam properties owned by Sentry Hospitality collectively offer almost 200 rooms.

Effective today, Kempinski Hotels and Leela Palaces, Hotels & Resorts have mutually agreed to bring the companies' fruitful 25-year relationship to a close. Following a progressive phase out which began in 2012, both parties will from now on promote their businesses separately. This will allow Leela to further consolidate its sales and marketing network independently, while facilitating Kempinski Hotels' direct penetration into the important Indian market.
