Originally from the United States, she boasts impressive business acumen and an extensive background in luxury hospitality. Her skill is in elevating a hotel’s attributes and nurturing its potential from a guest, enterprise, and corporate culture perspective. The Chair of Marriott Thailand Business Council, she has a degree in Hospitality Administration and has led teams at high-profile hotels, primarily in Thailand. Fluent in Thai, Liu was recognized as Asia Pacific’s first female General Manager for Marriott’s W Hotels, following a successful position in Bangkok.Ensuring The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok experience memorably stays with guests long after they have checked out is Hotel Manager, Lewis Quinn. A charismatic communicator, brimming with Irish charm, Quinn elevates each moment to make guests and team members feel special. He is a graduate of Shannon College of Hotel Management in Ireland, one of the most renowned hospitality teaching institutions in Europe. His 15+ year hospitality career has taken him to Switzerland; the United States; Singapore; the Maldives; and Thailand. He brings an International approach and has experience with The Ritz-Carlton brand. Culinary artistry, vibrant dishes, and creative cocktails with storytelling elements are clever and compelling under the leadership of Clément Larre, the Director of F&B and Executive Chef Glen Cooper. Clément proudly holds a Master’s Degree in Hospitality Management and a certificate in Hotel Planning & Design from New York’s renowned Cornell University. A success story of The Ritz-Carlton Food & Beverage Management Program, his expertise has taken him to Indonesia; Hong Kong; Malaysia, the United States; Ireland; and Thailand, with experience in France, too.A member of the APAC Culinary Advisory Board for Marriott, Glen has experience across four Marriott brands and joins the dream team from an Executive Chef position at The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands. Joining The-Ritz Carlton, Bangkok from a previous position in China, he is a dynamic, enterprise-minded individual. He has worked on multi-million dollar key accounts and revenue streams and is responsible for integrating The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok into the hearts and minds of an eclectic mix of guests and visitors from near and far.

49 Apprentices Graduate from Four Seasons Maldives Hospitality Program in its 23rd Year

23 years ago Regional VP and GM Armando Kraenzlin of Four Seasons Resorts Maldives created a Hospitality Apprenticeship program for local Maldivians. It’s the longest-running and most successful of its kind in the Indian Ocean, with 858 graduates since its inception in 2001. Back then, Armando often paddled between islands seeking talented young people for his new “school” where they could learn the art of hospitality under his tutelage. Now there are many more applicants than spaces available.

Attitude joins forces with EHL, the world’s leading hotel school to create a training academy in Mauritius

Attitude Hotels is joining forces with EHL Group (founded as Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne), the world’s leading hospitality school. This collaboration will form Attitude Academy VET by EHL, a new vocational education and training (VET) opportunity in Mauritius due to launch on 18 March 2024. Three courses will be available to students: Culinary, F&B Service or Hotel Rooms Division.

Phuket Hotels Association Empowers Thai Hospitality Executives With Third Cornell University Scholarship

 The Phuket Hotels Association, a non-profit organisation representing 88 of the island’s top hotels and resorts, is delighted to announce the latest recipient of its scholarship for talented Thai hospitality executives, as part of its long-term strategy to elevate hotel leadership in Phuket.Under a collaboration between Phuket Hotels Association and Cornell University, one highly promising team member from a hotel or resort in Phuket is offered a scholarship to Cornell’s annual General Managers Program (GMP). This year’s scholarship has been generously donated and fully funded by Mr. William Heinecke, Founder & Chairman of Minor International PCL.The latest GMP Cornell Scholarship was awarded to Ms. Pathama Kanteetaw, Executive Assistant Manager at Paresa Resort. Khun Kaew, as she is better known, worked for Marriott and Hilton before joining Paresa in 2016. She has impressed with her passion, business acumen, leadership skills and ability to create outstanding guest experiences.Now, Khun Kaew will travel to Cornell University, the prestigious Ivy League institution in New York state, USA, where she will undertake the five-day GMP from 18-23 June 2023. This immersive program is designed to help senior hospitality professionals, including heads of department, take the next step in their careers and become general managers. Phuket Hotels Association will cover the cost of Khun Kaew’s flights, accommodation and visas.
