Robert Brandenberg has been appointed as Food & Beverage Director at St. Regis Atlanta

With over 14 years of food and beverage experience at high-caliber properties across the globe, Mr. Brandenberg will oversee all food and beverage operations for the 151-room hotel, two on-site restaurants—Paces 88 American Bistro and Astor Court—as well as event catering. Mr. Brandenberg joins The St. Regis Atlanta from The Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok, where he served as Food & Beverage Director at the Luxury Collection Hotel. His impressive background boasts a range of internationally-celebrated hotels and restaurants including Le Méridien Jakarta, The Palace Hotel San Francisco, Core Club, The Peninsula New York, and Café Grey in New York.

Robert Lowe has been appointed as General Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta

Mr. Lowe is a veteran hotelier with over 25 years of hospitality industry experience including 13 years with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. He joined Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco in 1999 as Director of Sales and Marketing and later moved into Operations as Resident Manager in 2005. In 2007, he moved to Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC in the capacity of Resident Manager. Since 2010, Robert has held the position of Hotel Manager at Mandarin Oriental, New York. Prior to joining Mandarin Oriental, Mr. Lowe held various management positions with Hyatt Hotels.A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Mr. Lowe is bilingual in English and Spanish. He studied Hotel and Restaurant Management in the U.K. and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Slough Polytechnic in Berks, England.

Frank Quallen has been promoted to General Manager at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest and Marriott Norcross

Quallen joined HEI in 2004 as the general manager of the Marriott Norcross, where, under his leadership, the hotel achieved RevPAR Index for three straight years. Following the relocation of Don Cook to Minneapolis, Quallen was promoted to a newly created position, complex general manager, which adds oversight of the Atlanta Marriott Northwest to his general manager duties at the Marriott Norcross. Prior to HEI and the Marriott Norcross, Quallen was the director of food & beverage for the Renaissance Waverly Hotel and the Renaissance Atlanta Hotel Downtown.

Kenneth Alcott has been appointed as Regional Sales Manager at Marriott ExecuStay®

As regional sales manager, Alcott is responsible for the management of the sales efforts within his territory, including business development, brand awareness and market share growth. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, he will manage relationships in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana. Before joining ExecuStay, Alcott was senior account executive for market sales for Courtyard by Marriott Northlake and TownePlace Suites by Marriott Northlake, both located in Atlanta. Alcott earned his bachelor’s degree from Barry University in Miami, Fla., and is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.

Bob Webster has been named Managing Director at Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels

In his new role as Managing Director, Webster will focus on harnessing his expertise to gain market share in full service investment sales across the Americas. In addition, Webster will be able to leverage Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels’ global platform to offer his clients a wider array of solutions, including debt financing, strategic advisory and asset management services. During his near 30-year career, Webster has demonstrated a commitment to putting his clients first while creating real estate and finance solutions. His expertise includes senior positions that span every segment of the hotel industry including operations, real estate consulting, development, brokerage and finance. Webster joins Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels from Hodges Ward Elliott. He will operate from the firm’s Atlanta office, yet service clients throughout the Americas.

23rd Hunter Hotel Investment Conference to Examine How to Take Full Advantage of Rebounding Hotel Economy

Officials of the upcoming Hunter Hotel Investment Conference, one of the four major national annual hotel investment conferences, today unveiled its agenda noting that it will focus primarily on strategies hoteliers can use to take full advantage of the rebounding hotel economy. The 23rd annual event will take place on March 6-8, 2011, at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in Georgia.

Camille Johnson has been appointed as Catering Manager at The Doubletree Hotel Atlanta NE/Northlake

Ms. Johnson, a graduate of Georgia State University, joins the hotel from Atlanta’s The Glenn Hotel, where she served as the Catering and Conference Services Manager. Both the Doubletree Hotel Atlanta NE/Northlake and The Glenn are managed by Denver-based Sage Hospitality. Before joining The Glenn, Ms. Johnson held management-level positions at several Marriott properties in metro Atlanta, including the Marriott Atlanta Midtown Suites, the Atlanta Marriott Marquis and the Atlanta Marriott Century City.
