Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina announces Shane Nicolopoulos as General Manager. In his new role, Nicolopoulos oversees the daily operations of the 400-room waterfront resort, 18-hole River Marsh Golf Club, full-service Sago Spa & Salon, 37,000 square-feet of meeting space, multiple on-site restaurants, and 50-slip marina.With more than 25 years of experience, Nicolopoulos began his Hyatt career as a corporate management trainee at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando. Throughout his tenure, he has held various management and leadership positions at hotels around the country from Hyatt Regency Scottsdale to Hyatt Regency Portland.

Adam Resnick has been appointed as Executive Chef at Kimpton Marlowe Hote

Kimpton Marlowe Hotel, (https://www.hotelmarlowe.com), an award-wining, recently renovated hotel located at the entryway to Cambridge and just over the Charles River from Boston, is pleased to announce that Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants' veteran Adam Resnick has been appointed new Executive Chef. In this role , Chef Resnick will oversee all of the hotel's food and beverage programming including menu creation and execution for in-room dining, corporate meetings, and high-profile social events and weddings hosted at Kimpton Marlowe. Resnick will also create and implement seasonal menus at the hotel's popular restaurant, Bambara Kitchen & Bar (www.bambara-cambridge.com.)The news about Chef Resnick's appointment was shared by Joe Capalbo, CHA, Regional Director of Operations for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. Capalbo says, "In a time when the pandemic has drastically impacted the restaurant industry, it was important for us to maintain consistency and stability within Bambara and Kimpton Marlowe overall. Not only does Adam craft some amazing menus and dishes, but his leadership and presence in the kitchen have been a positive influence for many years. Having him in the role as new Executive Chef positions Bambara to emerge from the pandemic stronger than ever."Resnick has an ongoing, productive relationship with Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. Most recently, he served as Bambara's Executive Sous Chef for five years. Prior to this role, he was Chef at Kimpton Nine Zero's Highball Lounge in Boston (often named best hotel bar in the city) from 2014 - 2016. Before joining Nine Zero, he was back at Bambara where he worked his way up from Line Cook to PM Sous Chef in just one year. During his time with Kimpton, Resnick has also served on multiple task forces in hotels and restaurants across the country, from Vero Beach, FL to Los Angeles, CA. Prior to Kimpton, Resnick worked with several local, independent restaurants and at Brae Burn Country Club in Newton, MA where he assisted culinary operations for the Club's noteworthy banquets and galas. Resnick is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.

Gil Katzman has been named Director of Sales & Marketing at Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay

Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa & Marina has appointed hospitality veteran Gil Katzman director of sales and marketing. Katzman joins the luxury Eastern Shore resort from HEI Hotels and Resorts and BayStar Hotels Group, where he has served as task force director of sales and marketing since 2015. Katzman began his career in hospitality with Hilton Hotels, where he served in various sales and marketing roles at properties including Hilton Palacio del Rio in San Antonio, Waldorf Astoria New York, and Miami’s Hilton Airport and Fontainebleau Hilton Resort. A native of Tel Aviv, Israel, Katzman earned a BS in Hospitality Management and Economics from the University of Houston.

Claudia Wattenberg has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt Regency Cambridge

Bringing over a decade of hospitality experience to this position, Levine returns to the luxury Eastern Shore resort, most recently from his role as the Director of Sales and Marketing at Hyatt Regency Sarasota, a AAA Four Diamond property in Sarasota, FL. former Associate Director of Sales at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay, Levine's familiarity with the property will serve as an advantage in helping to oversee its continued progress and development. Prior to Sarasota and Chesapeake Bay, Levine spent several years at Hyatt Regency O'Hare, IL, and Hyatt Regency New Orleans, LA.

Alan L. Smith has been named General Manager at Boston Marriott Cambridge

Smith brings a wealth of executive level experience to his new post at the Cambridge hotel. Most recently, he served as general manager of the historic 315-room Courtyard Boston Downtown. Prior leadership roles have included resident manager at Boston Marriott Cambridge; director of finance and accounting at Boston Marriott Copley Place; controller at Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington, VA; and controller at Greenbelt Marriott in Greenbelt, MD.

Ted Kanatas has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina

Kanatas joins the award-winning waterfront resort after managing the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, the largest waterfront hotel in southern California. Kanatas was the general manager of the 1,625-room hotel for six years. Prior to his time at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, Kanatas served as general manager for Hyatt Regency Atlanta for nine years. Preceding Atlanta, he was general manager at Hyatt Regency Columbus (Ohio), Hyatt Regency Louisville (Kentucky) and Hyatt Regency City of Commerce (California). During his notable career, Kanatas has worked for nine Hyatt hotels and brings experience in a variety of operational capacities, including food and beverage.
