AJ Capital Partners Plans to Debut Graduate Cambridge as First International Graduate Hotels Property

Adventurous Journeys (AJ) Capital Partners announced today that it has acquired the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Cambridge City Centre in Cambridge, England. This marks the first Graduate Hotels® property to debut outside of the United States. The hotel will continue to operate as DoubleTree by Hilton until the end of the year. Renovations will begin in early 2020, and the 148-key hotel will debut as Graduate Cambridge, part of the Graduate Hotels collection, in summer 2020.

Joel Bunde has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay

CAMBRIDGE, MD - (October 20, 2017) - Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay is pleased to introduce Joel Bunde as its new General Manager (GM). Bunde joins the team from Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort, Spa and Casino, where he also served as GM. Bunde has over 24 years of experience with Hyatt Corporation, including 16 years in management positions at properties including Hyatt Aruba, Hyatt Key West, Hyatt Curacao, Hyatt Chesapeake, Hyatt Indianapolis, Park Hyatt Carmel, Hyatt San Francisco and Hyatt Rickeys.

Gil Katzman has been named Director of Sales & Marketing at Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay

Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa & Marina has appointed hospitality veteran Gil Katzman director of sales and marketing. Katzman joins the luxury Eastern Shore resort from HEI Hotels and Resorts and BayStar Hotels Group, where he has served as task force director of sales and marketing since 2015. Katzman began his career in hospitality with Hilton Hotels, where he served in various sales and marketing roles at properties including Hilton Palacio del Rio in San Antonio, Waldorf Astoria New York, and Miami’s Hilton Airport and Fontainebleau Hilton Resort. A native of Tel Aviv, Israel, Katzman earned a BS in Hospitality Management and Economics from the University of Houston.

Claudia Wattenberg has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt Regency Cambridge

Hyatt Regency Cambridge today announces the selection of Claudia Wattenberg as general manager. In this role, Wattenberg will be responsible for all aspects of Hyatt Regency Cambridges operations to include, sales, marketing, financial, human resources and hotel operations. Wattenberg will also oversee the re-launch and repositioning of Hyatt Regency Cambridge following the debut of its newly renovated meeting and event space.

Christopher Levine has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort Spa and Marina

Bringing over a decade of hospitality experience to this position, Levine returns to the luxury Eastern Shore resort, most recently from his role as the Director of Sales and Marketing at Hyatt Regency Sarasota, a AAA Four Diamond property in Sarasota, FL. former Associate Director of Sales at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay, Levine's familiarity with the property will serve as an advantage in helping to oversee its continued progress and development. Prior to Sarasota and Chesapeake Bay, Levine spent several years at Hyatt Regency O'Hare, IL, and Hyatt Regency New Orleans, LA.

Alan L. Smith has been named General Manager at Boston Marriott Cambridge

Smith brings a wealth of executive level experience to his new post at the Cambridge hotel. Most recently, he served as general manager of the historic 315-room Courtyard Boston Downtown. Prior leadership roles have included resident manager at Boston Marriott Cambridge; director of finance and accounting at Boston Marriott Copley Place; controller at Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington, VA; and controller at Greenbelt Marriott in Greenbelt, MD.

Ted Kanatas has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina

Kanatas joins the award-winning waterfront resort after managing the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, the largest waterfront hotel in southern California. Kanatas was the general manager of the 1,625-room hotel for six years. Prior to his time at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, Kanatas served as general manager for Hyatt Regency Atlanta for nine years. Preceding Atlanta, he was general manager at Hyatt Regency Columbus (Ohio), Hyatt Regency Louisville (Kentucky) and Hyatt Regency City of Commerce (California). During his notable career, Kanatas has worked for nine Hyatt hotels and brings experience in a variety of operational capacities, including food and beverage.
