Frasers Hospitality to Almost Double Footprint in China as it Maintains Strong Growth Momentum

Frasers Hospitality, a member of Frasers Property Group, announced today the grand opening of Fraser Suites Dalian, arriving hot on the heels of four properties that opened in Changsha, Tianjin and Shenzhen last year. The global hospitality operator is seeing strong uptake for its portfolio of brands, as it expects to grow its inventory by around 85 percent over the next few years, expanding to 30 properties across China. 

Michael Schmitt has been appointed as Cluster General Manager at Conrad Dalian & Hilton Dalian

Hilton Dalian and Conrad Dalian has announced the appointment of Michael Schmitt as Cluster General Manager. Mr. Schmitt will report to David Kelly, Vice President, North & South China, Hilton Worldwide, and will be responsible for overseeing the hotel's daily operations. Mr. Schmitt joined Hilton Dalian and Conrad Dalian from Hilton Hua Hin Resort & Spa where he held the position of General Manager.Prior to Hilton Hua Hin Resort & Spa in Thailand, Mr. Schmitt was the General Manager at Hilton Adelaide in South Australia. With 19 years of hospitality experience, Mr. Schmitt has worked at various Hilton properties in the U.K., Germany, Australia and China. He also worked for Pan Pacific Singapore from 2003 to 2008. Mr. Schmitt's experience in the lodging industry spans functions such as front office, sales & marketing and general management.

Paul Liu has been appointed as Executive Chef at The Castle Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel

The Castle Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Dalian is pleased to announce that Paul Liu has been named executive chef at Zhenbao Chinese Restaurant. A seasoned hospitality professional, Liu most recently worked as the executive chef at the Ju Hao Xuan and Qing Hui Lou restaurants at the Grand Square Hotel Wuhu. During his 22 year career, he has worked alongside a number of high level Hong Kong chefs and has a mastery of kitchen management and Cantonese cooking skills, including culinary specialties such as bird's nest and abalone. Liu worked his way through the ranks, beginning with a job as a kitchener at the Guangzhou Hualigong Hotel. He has also served as Chinese Executive Chef at a number of other respected hotels including the Pan Pacific Hotel and Serviced Suites Ning BO, QianDao Lake Resort Sheraton and Renaissance Hotel Tian Jin.

Andrew Whitaker has been appointed as General Manager at Dalian New World Hotel

Andrew Whitaker brings 18 years experience working for highly successful hospitality companies in Asia. Most recently, Mr. Whitaker was general manager of Andara Resort and Villas in Phuket, Thailand. Previously, he was general manager of Golden Sands Resort Hotel, Malaysia owned by Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and was general manager of Hong Kong’s Premier Private Family and Business Club, owned and managed by Shangri-La Hotels, from 2004 to 2008. He has held hospitality industry general manager positions for more than 12 years in Beijing, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan.
