John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts (JQH) today announced that Michèle Geller has been promoted to director of convention services, catering and event sales at the company’s newly renovated Embassy Suites by Hilton Dallas Frisco Hotel, Convention Center & Spa in Texas, which is located north of Dallas near the $5 Billion Mile development. With 27 years of hospitality experience, Geller previously served as senior sales manager for the 2017 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence hotel. In her new role, she will manage the catering and event services team while maximizing event revenues, convention services efficiencies, and the overall guest experience. Geller will report to Mike Woodfin, hotel director of sales. She will also serve as the point of contact for the numerous foundation and large catering events at the completely refreshed Frisco Conference Center, connected to the 330-suite Embassy Suites by Hilton Dallas Frisco. The upscale hotel is owned and operated by Springfield, Missouri-based JQH, a leading private, independent owner and manager of hotels in the United States. JQH also operates more than 1 million square feet of superb meeting space.
Dallas-based NewcrestImage is one step closer to opening the dual-branded AC Hotels by Marriott® and Residence Inn this October with the appointments of Kellie Adams as General Manager and Monica Weagel as Director of Sales. Michael D. McGilligan has joined Hilton Anatole as its new General Manager. He comes to the landmark Dallas hotel having most recently served as General Manager of the 860 room Hilton Chicago O’Hare Airport, where in 2016 he was honored as the Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association’s Hotelier of the Year. Prior to moving to Chicago, he was General Manager at Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre from 2009-2014.A 27-year veteran of the hospitality industry, McGilligan began his career in the Philadelphia Regional Accounting office of Guest Quarters Suites. Subsequently, he served in management positions of increasing responsibility with both DoubleTree by Hilton and Embassy Suites by Hilton in Washington D.C. before being named Hotel Manager of the Embassy Suites-World Financial Center, now Conrad New York. From New York, Michael assumed his first General Manager role at the Embassy Suites by Hilton San Diego-La Jolla until becoming General Manager of Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre.

Roby has eight years of experience in catering, events and marketing, and most recently served more than four years at the Warwick Melrose Hotel in Dallas as the associate director of catering and social catering manager. In this role, she was named “Manager of the Year” for 2013, and also set the record for most social catering revenue secured by a manager in the hotel’s history for 2014-2016. Roby graduated from Southern Methodist University in Texas with a bachelor’s degree in corporate communications and public affairs. She is professionally affiliated with the Society of Wedding Professionals and the National Association for Catering and Events.
