Kempinski to Open Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl - Doha in the Arabian Gulf Next Month

Pascal Eggerstedt has been named General Manager at InterContinental® Doha The City

Prior to joining InterContinental Doha The City, Eggerstedt served as General Manager at the Crowne Plaza Bahrain where he lead a $12 million renovation and was recognised by the Minister of Labour as one of the leading development and career centres for local talent in the hospitality industry in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Eggerstedt’s well-rounded career began with various operational roles at five-star luxury properties in Europe and the Caribbean. He then moved into IHG Corporate Offices in Hong Kong and Singapore in the Total Quality Management and Continuous Improvement department. Subsequently, Eggerstedt held operations roles in Indonesia before joining the IHG Global Headquarters in London as Director Operations Support for the EMEA region.

Steigenberger Hotel Group continues on its course of international expansion by planning brand debut in Doha

Top-end German hotel facilities are coming to Qatar in the form of the new Steigenberger Hotel Doha Airport Road, which is to be constructed in the up-and-coming metropolis of Doha. The project is to be realised within the close proximity of Doha City Centre and Doha International Airport and thus serve the interests of both leisure and business guests. Construction works are scheduled to begin in the autumn of 2014. The new First Class Hotel will open its doors in 2016.The Steigenberger Hotel Doha Airport Road will be a modern five-star establishment with about 200 rooms including junior suites, suites and a high-quality Presidential Suite. The hotel offers a large conference centre with a 400 m2 Ballroom and several seminar and meeting rooms.Guests will be able to relax in a generously proportioned fitness and health spa centre with various saunas, a swimming pool, a gym and massage and beauty treatment rooms.Culinary requirements at the hotel will be served by two international restaurants. One will specialise in Lebanese food, and the other will feature a 200 m2 terrace. A Shisha Bar is also planned.Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Frankfurter Steigenberger Hotels AG, believes that Qatar is a perfect match for the company's expansion strategy. "Following the signing of agreements for projects in China and Dubai, Doha is an ideal addition to our portfolio of hotels at attractive locations."The Project Manager is the company Projacs International from Doha.
