The property, owned and operated by luxury hospitality group The Bastion Collection, welcomes Lugo to oversee operations, guest experience and strategy, bringing two decades of luxury hospitality experience to this iconic address.

Hans Heijligers has been appointed as General Manager at InterContinental Genève and Crowne Plaza Geneva

Originally from the Netherlands, Hans Heijligers spent 35 years of his hotel career abroad. He mainly settled in Asia where he led the entire Western region of Japan while serving as Managing Director at InterContinental Osaka for 3 years. Since 2016, he has held the position of Director of the InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG®) in Japan. As of the start of the 2022 school year, he wanted to return to Europe to get closer to his family and to take up a new challenge: to promote the place of the prestigious and legendary InterContinental Geneva in the eyes of the whole world. He will also ensure the management of the newly renovated 4-star Crowne Plaza Geneva.
