Sherona Shng has been appointed as Hotel Manager at The Langham

A seasoned hotelier with extensive experience in Marketing and Communications, Sherona is an exciting addition to The Langham. She is an accomplished communications specialist with 20 years experience in international communications and media relations. Prior to taking up the role as Hotel Manager, Sherona was Vice President – Communications and Public Relations at Langham Hospitality Group (LHG), overseeing the Group’s global public relations and advertising program, as well as the development and implementation of ‘Corporate Identity’ standards for all brands within the Langham Hospitality Group. Sherona joined LHG in 2003 as part of the pre-opening team of Langham Place Hotel in Mongkok. She was promoted to oversee Public Relations for the group in 2005 and a year later, Sherona took on the additional role of Marketing Communications to manage the Group’s global advertising and integrated marketing campaigns.

Kwong Wai Keung has been appointed as Chinese Executive Chef at The Langham, Hong Kong

Chef Kwong first joined The Langham, Hong Kong in 1988 as a chef in T’ang Court and worked his way up to become the hotel's Executive Chef – Chinese in 1994. In 2008, he transferred to Langham Hospitality Group where he was appointed as Executive Chef – Chinese. In this capacity, Chef Kwong was responsible for developing and shaping the group’s signature Chinese restaurants, as well as banqueting worldwide. As an award-winning chef with over 20 years experience, Chef Kwong will oversee the kitchen operation of T’ang Court and Chinese banquets. A veteran of traditional Cantonese cuisine, Chef Kwong is also willing to be innovative. He seeks changes within traditional Chinese cuisine without losing its essence. When talking about his own cooking philosophy, Chef Kwong says, “As a professional chef, one must be rigorous regarding the food quality - and the ability to be innovative is also a key factor to become successful. From the combination of ingredients to the plating of each dish, every detail must be taken into consideration in order to surprise and delight guests.”

Hervé Mazella has been appointed as Executive Assistant Manager – Food And Beverage at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong

Born in Provence, France, Hervé developed his passion for cooking and hospitality as a child. In the early 1990’s, Hervé studied in a hotel school in France before pursuing his studies in hotel management in Germany. With his enthusiasm for culinary arts and pastry in particular, Hervé was awarded the Vice Champion prize at the “Desserts of France” competition in 1998.

Greg Liddell will succeed Anthony Costa as General Manager of The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong with effect from 27 August, 2012. Mr Liddell joined Mandarin Oriental in 2009 as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi, Chiang Mai, during which time the property has been named as one of the ‘Best Hotels in Asia’ for service in the recent Travel + Leisure, ‘World’s Best Service’ listing.

Kitty Tang has been appointed as Director of Food and Beverage at Eaton Smart

With a major in hotel management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Tang has worked in the industry for over 20 years, particularly in banqueting and catering services. Prior to joining Eaton Smart, Hong Kong, she was the director of catering of Langham Place, Hong Kong, and has been working with the hotel since its pre-opening. She also held managerial positions for various five-star hotels, including Furama Hotel and Regal Airport Hotel in Hong Kong. In her new role as the director of food and beverage at Eaton Smart, Tang will assist Shane Pateman, GM of Eaton Smart, Hong Kong, in overseeing the hotel’s food and beverage division, which consists of banqueting service and seven restaurants and bar including Yat Tung Heen, the outpost of the Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant at Great Eagle Centre.
