Joseph Zuziak has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Hyatt Regency Irvine

Zuziak most recently served as the director of group sales at Park Hyatt Aviara, a luxury resort in the heart of Carlsbad, where he led his team to capture incentive business following a $50 million resort-wide transformation. Over his decade of experience, he has held numerous esteemed positions, including director of sales for the Marriott Southwest Group Sales Office. In this role, he oversaw numerous sales teams responsible for driving annual revenue across a diverse range of Marriott hotels from Santa Barbara to San Diego, as well as in Arizona and Nevada. His responsibilities included managing the execution of post-acquisition integration operations and ensuring a smooth transition to Marriott's software suite and internal processes.

Charline Bianchi has been appointed as Director of Room Operations at Marriott Irvine Spectrum

With previous luxury hospitality experience in the UK and Canada, including The Westin Ottawa and Hotel Le Germain Toronto, Charline Bianchi brings exceptional, global expertise to Marriott Irvine Spectrum as its new director of room operations. In her most recent role as director of guest services at The Clancy, an Autograph Collection in San Francisco, Bianchi led her team to success with an elevated approach to service by implementing next-level training, launching a Loyalty Mindset program, and driving a coaching culture to support young leaders. Bianchi brings her inspiring vision and passion to her role at Marriott Irvine Spectrum and she is responsible for leading day-to-day room operations with the goal to provide impeccable guest service and one-of-a-kind luxury experiences.

Nelson Sanchez has been promoted to Executive Chef at Marriott Irvine Spectrum

As Marriott Irvine Spectrum's previous executive sous chef, Nelson Sanchez brings more than a decade of culinary experience to his new role as executive chef of the hotel's diverse outlets, including Heirloom Farmhouse Kitchen and Hive & Honey Rooftop Bar. Passionate about sharing his culinary repertoire, Sanchez has brought both creativity and innovation to his menu development in his previous position and naturally transitioned to his new leadership role. As executive chef, Sanchez is tasked with developing and executing seasonal menus that focus on California-inspired, responsibly sourced cuisine. Prior to joining the Marriott Irvine Spectrum team, Sanchez served as chef de cuisine at Hotel Laguna in Laguna Beach, California.

Che Sutton has been appointed as General Manager at Marriott Irvine Spectrum

Thoughtful and dynamic in his approach, Che Sutton brings more than two decades of hospitality experience to his role at Marriott Irvine Spectrum. Sutton is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the property, utilizing his leadership expertise and inventive skill set to further elevate the guest experience. Sutton has held various positions across the Marriott brand portfolio, including Scottsdale Marriott at McDowell Mountains in Arizona, the Los Angeles Airport Marriott and Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach in California. He held key leadership positions and mastered his knowledge in various areas of operations, food and beverage, renovations and concept branding. Prior to joining the Marriott Irvine Spectrum team, Sutton held ranks as the dual general manager of the Residence Inn and Fairfield Inn & Suites Tustin Orange County.

Director of Food & Beverage Gordon Fischmann brings nearly two decades of global culinary experience to his executive position where he will oversee all aspects of the hotel's culinary program, including Heirloom Farmhouse Kitchen, Hive & Honey Rooftop Bar, in-room dining, celebrations and special events, in addition to leading the curation of innovative new programs and produce-forward dishes. Prior to joining the Marriott Irvine Spectrum team, Fischmann held various positions overseas in Spain, Germany and Austria. Most recently, he led various food and beverage programs throughout multiple Southern California luxury properties, including Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, Balboa Bay Resort Newport Beach, Park Hyatt Aviara Resort and Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach. When not overseeing culinary operations, Gordon enjoys playing soccer with his son, photography and art.

Sanchez to Executive Sous Chef, bringing more than a decade of culinary experience to the hotel's diverse outlets, including Heirloom Farmhouse Kitchen and Hive & Honey Roo ftop Bar, a hotspot for sunset revelers to enjoy craft cocktails and local brews.As Executive Sous Chef at Marriott Irvine Spectrum, Sanchez is responsible for assisting the executive chef from creative menu development with a focus on California-inspired, responsibly sourced cuisine to overseeing daily operations, including portion and inventory control, food quality and leadership training of the kitchen staff.Sanchez launched his culinary journey as a sous chef at Montage Hotels and Resort in Laguna Beach, Calif. where he crafted custom tasting menus and helped the restaurant maintain five-star standards. Following his tenure, he earned the role of senior sous chef at Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills and later became the executive sous chef at Ocean at Main. Passionate in sharing his culinary repertoire, Sanchez delivered a knack for creativity and mentoring to his role as chef de cuisine at The Hall Global Eatery. Prior to joining the Marriott Irvine S pectrum team, Sanchez held ranks as chef de cuisine at Hotel Laguna where he led the opening management team and facilitated all training of back of house staff.Sanchez studied at the California School of Culinary Arts in Pasadena, Calif., and earned an Associate of Occupational Studies Degree in the Le Cordon Bleu program.

Paolo Buffa has been appointed as Executive Sous Chef at Marriott Irvine Spectrum

Joining Irvine’s skyline and offering an elevated gathering place, Marriott Irvine Spectrum is pleased to announce the appointment of Paolo Buffa as executive sous chef for the 271-room hotel set to debut late December. Hailing from Italy, Executive Sous Chef Paolo Buffa brings over 25 years of culinary experience to the Marriott Irvine Spectrum, where he will be showcasing inventive California cuisine through a Mediterranean lens. Buffa studied at the Culinary Art Institute of Milan and further honed his skill of Italian, French and Belgian cuisine while in Austria. His US foray was Caffe Milano, the Italian hotspot on Miami Beach’s Ocean Drive, and later, he held multi-faceted positions at The Ritz Carlton, Battery Park and the Mayflower Hotel in Washington DC. Buffa is not new to the Marriott family, having led banquet functions and operations at the hotel group’s Southern California locations. Off duty, he spends time with his son Leonardo, and pursues outdoor adventure, photography and the California varietals featured on his wine list. He is fluent in Italian, Spanish and English.
