Hilton has announced the appointment of John Trovato as Managing Director of both the historic Casa Marina Resort and refined The Reach, in Key West, Florida. Effective immediately, Trovato is responsible for managing Casa Marina, a 311-room beachfront property nestled along the southern edge of Key West, and The Reach, a 150-room boutique resort just west of sister hotel Casa Marina and steps away from Duval Street.

The Perry Hotel Key West at Stock Island Marina will welcome its first guests on May 1. The 100-room boutique hotel is located on a private 220-slip marina within the three-year-old Stock Island Marina Village complex, and is helping to establish the area as the most coveted new destination in the Florida Keys. Tucked between the mangroves lining Shrimp Road and the Stock Island Marina, The Perry Hotel Key West features large private terraces with water views from every guest room, a lush outdoor pool area with cabanas overlooking the working waterfront, and an on-site distillery. Embracing the local community, the property will feature an artists" studio and Stock Island"s Arts & Provisions, a local shop and art gallery, which will feature rotating installations created by Key West craftsmen.

Hilton Worldwide has announced the appointment of Peter J. Carmichael to general manager of both the historic Casa Marina Resort and refined The Reach, in Key West, Florida. Carmichael will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the iconic resorts, ensuring they continue to be an industry leader for both groups and leisure guests. The sister properties are nestled along the southern edge of the island off the Atlantic Ocean and are part of Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts. . A results-oriented leader with proven capabilities in delivering positive outcomes through innovation and process improvements, Carmichael joins Hilton from the InterContinental Hotels Group, where he held several global positions including director of operations in Indonesia, Indochina, and the Philippines; vice president of operations in Southeast Asia and Maldives and regional and senior vice president positions in Singapore, Seoul, Korea, and Bangkok. Prior, he was with Shangri-La Hotels as general manager in Beijing, Jakarta, and Surabaya. Early in his career, Carmichael held general manager positons in Canada, enhancing customer experience while achieving record setting profits through a strong emphasis on team work and innovation. An active member of the community, he is a member of SKAL, Chaine des Rotisseures, The Indonesia Hotel Association, and Harley Davidson HOG Chapter.

Ron Day has been appointed as General Manager at Casa Marina and The Reach: Waldorf Astoria Resorts

Bringing more than 25 years of leadership experience in hotel management and operations, Day most recently served as general manager of Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa in Montego Bay, Jamaica where he led a team of 700. Day began his career in hotels in 1987 as director of restaurants for the Scottsdale Princess Resort and has since held management positions at The Buttes Resort in Tempe, Arizona; Adam’s Mark Hotels; El Conquistador Resort, A Waldorf Astoria Resort in Puerto Rico; and Miami Beach Resort & Spa. In addition, in 2007, he oversaw the conversion of Saratago Hotel in New York to the Hilton brand. Day’s result-driven leadership skills and passion for the hospitality and culinary industry has put him on many boards and executive councils including Jamaican Hotel & Tourism Association, Saratoga Springs Convention & Tourism Board, American Institute of Wine and Food; Arizona and Delaware Valley chapters, Chaine des Rotisseures in Phoenix, Mobile, Philadelphia and Jamaica as well as SKAL International. Day holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Business; School of Hotel & Restaurant Administration from Florida State University.

Michael A. Weber has been appointed as General Manager at La Concha Key West

With a proven track record of success in the hospitality field overseeing several luxury hotels and resorts, Weber's vast industry knowledge includes sales and marketing, revenue management, group business, inventory control, rate strategy, forecasting and food and beverage functions. A Most recently, he guided Bimini Big Game Club Resort & Marina in Bimini, Bahamas, through a renovation and expansion with a focus on the diving, fishing, yachting, family and wedding markets. Prior to joining the boutique resort, Weber managed the AAA 4-Diamond Radisson Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort in Grand Bahama as well as the all-suite il Lugano Luxury Suite Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. In 2005, Weber was awarded General Manager of the Year by Coral Hospitality for his leadership at the Chesapeake Resort in Islamorada. Boasting dual citizenship in the United States and Switzerland, the multilingual, second generation hotelier will apply his knowledge of the Keys market in his new position as he leads La Concha Key West to its highest level of achievement.

Warren Zinn has been appointed as Director of Food and Beverage at Casa Marina, a Waldorf Astoria Resort

Casa Marina, A Waldorf Astoria Resort in Key West, Florida is pleased to announce the appointment of Warren Zinn as its new director of food and beverage. Bringing more than 20 years of industry experience in leadership and hospitality roles, Zinn oversees all the food and beverage operations at the luxury resort, including three food and beverage outlets, in-room dining, catering services, meetings, and more. Most recently, Zinn served as the assistant director of food and beverage at New York Hilton Midtown in New York City. There he was nominated for the Hilton Excellence in Leadership Award three years in a row. Prior to that, Zinn was operating partner at Daryl Wine Bar & Restaurant, an upscale retail wine shop in New Brunswick, NJ. He has also held various management roles at other top dining outlets in New York and London.
