Sandy Minskoff has been appointed as National Sales Manager at Lansdowne Resort

Sandy Minskoff has been appointed National Sales Manager of Lansdowne Resort located in Leesburg, Virginia. With more than twenty years of hospitality and management experience, Minskoff is positioned to cultivate relationships that introduce new business as the resort moves through post pandemic recovery. Minskoff joins the resort team most recently from neighboring National Conference Center where she successfully grew the Corporate, Federal and State Government markets. Her experience expands from well-known Virginia destinations such as Airlie Resort, The Boar's Head Inn, the Homestead Resort and Belmont Country Club. Minskoff will be responsible for national key accounts as well as government contractors in the Washington DC metro area. She is an active member of MPI, Northern Virginia Chamber, VSAE, and SGMP.

Kevin Carter, CHA has been appointed Managing Director of Lansdowne Resort and Spa located in Leesburg, Virginia. Dennis Marcinik has been appointed as Resort Manager at Lansdowne Resort

Dennis Marcinik is moving to Lansdowne Resort to serve as the new Resort Manager! Dennis joins comes from Wild Dunes Resort where he was the Director of Operations while also serving in Interim GM roles at Tarrytown House, Oak Brook Hills Resort and the Inn & Spa at Loretto. Prior to Destination Hotels, Dennis had an extensive and prosperous career in Food & Beverage including stints with Omni Hotels & Resorts, Marriott Hotels & Resorts and Lettuce Entertain You. Dennis is originally from San Antonio, TX, but called DC home for a number of years while working for Marriott Hotels. He has friends and family in the DC area including his daughter Meredith, who will be living and working in Maryland as she embarks on her career as an attorney. Dennis will be joined by his wife of 32 years, Kris, and they look forward to traveling (regionally and abroad), dining & drinking good wines - including Virginia wines! Dennis is also a passionate Steelers, Cubs, Spurs and Penguins fan and enjoys reading history in his spare time.

Skip James has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Lansdowne Resort, A Destination Hotel

James is an accomplished leader within the hospitality industry who has more than 20 years of experience working for established and well known hotels and resorts across the United States. Prior to joining Lansdowne Resort, by Destination Hotels, James served as Director of Sales and Marketing at Turnberry Isle Miami. Prior to that assignment, James worked within the Destination Hotels family as Director of Sales and Marketing at Sunriver Resort in Bend, Oregon.

Kevin Blake has been appointed as Food and Beverage Manager at Lansdowne Resort

Blake arrived at Lansdowne after serving the last two and a half years as the director of food and beverage at fellow Destination Hotels & Resorts property, Wild Dunes Resort, in Charleston, SC. Possessing extensive career experience in the hospitality industry, Blake has fulfilled similar roles at the Boar’s Head Inn in Charlottesville, VA; the Fairmont Hotel and the Monarch Hotel in Washington, DC; and as an executive chef with ANA Hotels, also in Washington, DC. Blake attended Northern Virginia Community College and also earned certifications from the Darden School of Business for service excellence and from Cornell University for strategic hospitality management. Blake is also a certified sommelier. He started his new position on September 10.

Lloyd Williams has been appointed as General Manager at Lansdowne Resort

Williams joins Lansdowne Resort after serving as the Managing Director at Innisbrook Resort near Tampa, Fla. The resort is owned by LaSalle Hotel Properties and managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts. Williams assumed his new role on May 8. Prior to joining Lansdowne Resort, Williams enjoyed successful stints in executive management roles at various destinations including Amelia Island Plantation; The Woodlands Conference Center, Resort and Country Club in Texas; and Wintergreen Resort in Virginia. He has also served as the General Manager at Williamsburg Lodge in Colonial Williamsburg where he also oversaw Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Virginia.

Michael van Emmenes has been appointed as Director of Food and Beverage at Lansdowne Resort

Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading U.S.-based hospitality management company, has named Michael van Emmenes director of food and beverage for Lansdowne Resort, the landmark property located adjacent to Leesburg, Virginia, near Washington, DC. David Kohlasch, Benchmark’s general manager at the resort, made the announcement. Michael van Emmenes was most recently assistant director of food & beverage for Hilton Hotels & Resorts, serving at the company’s Orlando property. Prior to this appointment he was assistant director of food and beverage for the landmark Palmer House hotel in Chicago.

Kim Martinez has been named Director of Sales at Lansdowne Resort

Kim Martinez was previously Director of Sales at the Marriott Grand Resort & Spa in Point Clear, Alabama, a property similar in size to the resort. While in that position she earned both Regional and Global Sales Leader of the Year and Marriott’s Golden Circle Award. She was National Sales Manager at the following properties in California: Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa; Mark Hopkins Hotel and the Argent Hotel. During her tenure, Kim was a consistent top producer in sales for room nights, RevPar and incremental revenue. She is known for her motivational and inspirational skills. She has a Bachelor's degree from Bradley University and is a member of Meeting Planners International, Society of Incentive Travel Executives and Professional Convention Management Association. She has relocated to Leesburg, Virginia.

Gregory Spiller has been named Director of Group Sales at The National Conference Center

Spiller is a 15-year hospitality sales veteran with experience at conference centers, hotels, resorts, and convention bureaus. He has worked with Hyatt Hotels, Marriott, Inter-Continental Hotels, Benchmark Hospitality and Ritz-Carlton. Spiller is a graduate of Howard University with a degree in hotel management. He is a member of the National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners (NCBMP), Meeting Professionals International Greater New York (MPIGNY) and has previously served on the board of the Houston Metropolitan Alumni Club (HU). He lives in Ashburn, Virginia with his wife and two children. His hobbies include hiking and golf.

Ryan Wilson has been appointed as Director of Golf Club Operations at The Golf Club at Lansdowne

Ryan is responsible for the leadership for the entire golf operation and brings valued experience from a highly esteemed career in the golf industry that includes leadership positions at several reputable golf facilities and eight years of experience as a general manager with Troon Golf. Most recently, Ryan served as general manager of The Bridges Golf & Country Club in Montrose, CO, a semi-private club and past recipient of Golf Magazine’s “Top 10 New Courses” award. “I am thrilled at the opportunity to contribute to the long-standing reputation of The Golf Club at Lansdowne,” said Wilson. “Already considered one of the region’s top private golf courses, the challenge of improving upon a club that has already reached levels of high acclaim is something I am excited to accomplish.”
