Katie Benson has been appointed as Regional VP - Europe & General Manager at Jumeirah Carlton Tower

Katie Benson has also enjoyed more than 30 years in the hospitality industry with experience in general management and operations, human resources, asset management and development. She joined Jumeirah in 2015 from Langham Group where she held roles including CEO and Executive Director of Langham Hospitality Investments, Regional Vice President for the Americas and Caribbean for Langham Hospitality Group, Regional Vice President for the Americas and Europe and Managing Director at Langham London. A joint British-Australian citizen, Katie has also held positions for Langham Hospitality Group in Melbourne and Hong Kong, as well as several senior executive positions for Starwood Hotels and Resorts throughout the Middle East, Australia and China. In her new dual role as Regional Vice President Europe and General Manager Jumeirah Carlton Tower, Katie remains in London, the city in which she grew up, and now reports to Group Chief Operating Officer Marc Dardenne. Graham Kiy took up his new role as Regional Vice President of Greater China and General Manager of Jumeirah Nanjing in August 2016. Graham joined Jumeirah in 2010 as the Hotel Manager for Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. He has extensive experience of the Asia Pacific market having spent more than 30 years working in South East Asia and Greater China undertaking a number of General Manager positions in China, Singapore and Manila. He is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as well as German, French, Indonesian and Thai.

Suren Hettiarchchi has been appointed as leisure sales manager at InterContinental London The O2

The InterContinental London – The O2, has strengthened its sales team with the appointment of Suren Hettiarchchi, as Leisure Sales Manager and Maria Georgiou as Business Development Executive. The appointments come on the back of a very successful first six months of business for the hotel, which opened in January 2016. Suren joins the hotel from ICVolunteers Conferences, in Switzerland and was formerly at Grange Hotels, London, Sri Lankan Tourist Board, Whistlestop and Crystal Holidays.

Maria Georgiou has been appointed as Business Development Executive at InterContinental London - The O2

The InterContinental London – The O2, has strengthened its sales team with the appointment of Suren Hettiarchchi, as Leisure Sales Manager and Maria Georgiou as Business Development Executive. The appointments come on the back of a very successful first six months of business for the hotel, which opened in January 2016. Maria was previously Sales Coordinator at Grosvenor House, a Marriott Hotel, and prior to that was at Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotels, May Fair Hotel, Sketch restaurant, London, which she joined having relocated from Switzerland.

Lisbeth Gernow has been appointed as Director of Business Development at Hilton London Bankside

Hilton London Bankside has announced the appointment of Lisbeth Gernow as Director of Business Development. Having previously held the same position at London Hilton on Park Lane, Lisbeth brings in-depth knowledge of the Hilton Hotel & Resorts brand to her new role as well as years of expertise in business development and the hospitality sector. Lisbeth joined London Hilton on Park Lane in 2013 and was responsible for delivering an annual revenue exceeding £65 million. Prior to this Lisbeth was the Revenue Manager at Hilton London Metropole before becoming Director of Business Development from 2009 – 2013.

Nicolas Messian has been appointed as Hotel Manager at The Dorchester

The five-red-AA star Dorchester hotel, part of Dorchester Collection, has appointed Nicolas Messian as hotel manager, effective immediately. Messian joins the Dorchester from his role as hotel manager at the One&Only Royal Mirage in Dubai, where for four years he oversaw the hotel’s 451 rooms, 17 food and beverage outlets and conference and banqueting facilities. Before joining One&Only he held senior roles at the Soneva Fushi resort in the Maldives and Goodwood Estates, Chichester, UK. He also comes from a strong line of hoteliers, heralding back to his great grandfather Henry Elles who opened the Savoy in 1889 as restaurant manager alongside Auguste Escoffier and César Ritz, before later becoming general manager at the Ritz hotels in Paris and London in the 1920s. In his new role, Messian will report directly to regional director and general manager Roland Fasel, overseeing all hotel operations from its 250 rooms, of which 68 are suites, to its designer florist and the Dorchester spa.
