Roy Paul has been appointed as Chief Development Officer at Orient-Express Hotels Ltd

In a hospitality career spanning 30 years, Mr. Paul has been involved in the conceiving, evaluating, structuring, planning, development, operations and asset management of hotels and resorts on a global scale. He joins Orient-Express Hotels Ltd. from Cedar Capital Partners, an independent hotel investment firm. Cedar Capital Partners has acquired over EUR850 million worth of hotel assets on behalf of its partners. While at Cedar Capital Partners, he participated in a number of transactions, including the sale of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Prague and the purchase of the Richemond Hotel in Geneva.

Rachel Louis has been appointed as Director of Sales at The Dorchester

Dorchester Collection’s London flagship, The Dorchester, has appointed Rachel Louis as Director of Sales. With an eye toward motivating and managing her team to peak performance and increasing revenues across all areas of operation, Louis will also serve on the hotel’s Leadership Committee. Louis brings 13 years of management experience to her new position, most recently as Director of Sales at InterContinental London Park Lane and Assistant Director of Sales at Maybourne Hotel Group. Previously, she was Regional Assistant Director of Sales for Morgans Hotel Group, responsible for St. Martin’s Lane Hotel and the Sanderson. A native of Yorkshire, England, Louis earned a Politics degree from Newcastle University. “The Dorchester is the benchmark for luxury hospitality in London and around the world. With the Olympics approaching and the world turning its attention to the city, as well as the hotel’s upcoming 80th Anniversary in 2011, it’s an exciting time spearheading sales for this iconic property,” said Louis.

THE recovery of London's hotel property market looks set to gather pace in the next few weeks as buyers seek to close on a clutch of deals worth more than £1.5 billion ($2.45bn). The Times reports that Singapore's Kop Group will this week agree the estimated £70 million acquisition of the former City headquarters of the Willis insurance empire for redevelopment as a super-luxury hotel. Westmont Hospitality, a US investor, is understood to have emerged as the frontrunner to acquire the Eton Group chain of five boutique hotels for up to £50 million, while an Indian bidder is thought to be in advanced talks to buy the Grosvenor House on Park Lane in Central London for £470million.
