Jean Louis Magron has been appointed as Property Management Director at Rancho San Lucas

Jean Louis Magron is no stranger to the company, having previously served as General Manager at the Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa during its construction and grand opening. He now returns as Property Management Director at Rancho San Lucas to oversee the successful operation of both the residential and resort portfolio, while implementing the highest brand standards for this new real estate and golf venture. Prior to his experience with Solmar Hotels & Resorts, Magron held several positions as General Manager and Director of Food and Beverage for properties such as Hotel Camino Real Mexico City, Hotel Grand Melia Mexico Reforma, Hotel Hilton Los Cabos Golf & Beach Resort, and Hotel Dreams Los Cabos, among others.

Park Hyatt Los Cabos Expected to open in late 2020

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) announced today two new luxury hotel developments in Los Cabos and Mexico City, Mexico under the Park Hyatt brand. These two high-end properties, designed to meet the needs of the discerning global traveler, mark the anticipated debut of the Park Hyatt brand in the country, and will join the brand"s global portfolio in locations such as Bangkok, Paris, Tokyo, Vienna, Milan and Zurich, as well as two sister hotels in Latin America: Palacio Duhau-Park Hyatt Buenos Aires, and Park Hyatt Mendoza.

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts Signs with Impulsora and Gran Armee for 120-Room Hotel in Quivira, Los Cabos

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott International (NASDAQ:MAR), today announced it will amplify its presence in Mexico with the signing of a 120-room hotel and 60 residences in Los Cabos, one of Mexico"s fastest-growing luxury destinations. Expected to open in early 2021, The St. Regis Los Cabos will be located in Quivira, Los Cabos, an exclusive residential community where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez.

His responsibilities as Director of Marketing and Sales for One&Only Palmilla will include developing creative and profitable marketing initiatives that inspire his team to generate exceptional results.

Angela Lockyer has been appointed as Director of Sales at One&Only Palmilla

Angela Lockyer was most recently the Director of Leisure Sales for One&Only Resorts in Australia, overseeing the sales efforts for One&Only Hayman Island and Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley before becoming the Director of Sales for One&Only Palmilla. Based in Los Angeles, Lockyer will be responsible for the implementation of sales strategies to maximize revenue for One&Only Palmilla. Lockyer brings over 15 years of sales, marketing, and revenue management experience from the U.K., U.S., and Australia to her new role.

Marco Tabet has been named General Manager at Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort

A seasoned hospitality veteran, Tabet returns to his former home at Hilton Los Cabos, where he served as director of food and beverage from 2007 to 2012. Mastering his skills as a culinary operations expert, Tabet continued to advance his career as general manager of Waldorf Astoria Panama and Hilton Lima Miraflores. Most recently and since 2013, Tabet served as general manager of Hilton Lima Miraflores, where Hilton was recognized as a 2016 Great Place to Work with a first place category ranking. In 2012, Tabet accepted his first general manager role at Waldorf Astoria Panama, where he successfully led the hotel’s opening and helped secure the brand’s best hotel opening of the year award. Tabet joined Hilton in 1996 at Hilton Madagascar, where he began his early concentration in the food and beverage department. Throughout his career, Tabet has held several leadership positions at Hilton properties including: Hilton Curaçao, British Colonial Hilton Nassau, Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort, Waldorf Astoria Panama and Hilton Lima Miraflores, as well as the former Hilton Tobago and Hilton Caracas.Tabet received a commercial apprenticeship from Banca della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, Switzerland and later attended Geneva Hotel Management School. He is fluent in Italian, English, Spanish and French. He will be living in Cabo with his wife and two young boys.

Ignacio Mendoza Valenzuela has been appointed as Managing Director at Grand Velas Los Cabos

Eduardo Vela Ruiz, founder and president of Mexico’s Velas Resorts, has announced that Luz (Lucy) del Carmen Ruiz Rodriguez will take over as Managing Director of the AAA Five Diamond Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. She replaces Ignacio Mendoza Valenzuela who will act as opening Managing Director of Grand Velas Los Cabos. Opening in late 2016, Grand Velas Los Cabos ups the ante for the Grand Velas product with special wine features, commitment to the arts, dramatic ocean views, hard to top wellness suites and more. The appointments are effective immediately.

Edward DiLuca has been appointed as General Manager at ME Cabo

Eduardo Segura has been appointed as General Manager at The Cape, a Thompson Hotel

General Manager Eduardo Segura’s lifelong passion for hospitality was ignited with a scholarship to study abroad in Ithaca, NY at the prestigious Cornell University. Upon graduating in 1982, Segura began a 16-year career with the Camino Real Hotels group, working across the brand’s numerous Mexican properties, including Camino Real hotels in Mexico City, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Las Hadas, and Monterrey. Following his passion for extreme sports and nature, Segura later relocated to Los Cabos to help open and co-manage Cabo Dolphins & Cabo Adventures, a land and sea expedition company dedicated to showcasing the abundance of natural wonders in the destination. His comprehensive understanding of the Los Cabos tourism market—gleaned both as a professional working in the region and as a local resident—later brought him to the Los Cabos Tourism Board, where he served as director from 2012 until 2015. In early 2015, he was invited to lead the opening team at The Cape. “I’ve always been excited by the prospect of redefining what upscale tourism means for the Los Cabos market,” says Segura. “The Cape is shepherding in a new era of Los Cabos luxury.”

Carlos Echaiz has been appointed as Director of Food and Beverage at The Cape, a Thompson Hotel

Director of Food and Beverage Carlos Echaiz brings with him a worldly outlook, holding degrees in both hotel and food and beverage management from the Universidad de Chile and having opened luxury dining concepts throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. His early career includes the opening of the first Ritz-Carlton property in South America, The Ritz-Carlton Santiago, the reopening of the InterContinental Santiago in 2006, and the opening of the Rosewood Mayakoba, Riviera Maya in 2007. Trading solid ground for open waters, Echaiz joined Celebrity Cruises to manage the culinary teams aboard the cruise line’s luxury fleet of ships, including the Eclipse, Silhouette, and Reflection. Echaiz additionally spent two years as the director of food and beverage at the Gansevoort Turks and Caicos, rounding out his luxury portfolio. Now at The Cape, Echaiz brings his culinary knowledge to the Baja region, working with local farms and fishermen to showcase the distinct flavors of the destination.
