Shawn McWhorter has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton New Orleans St. Charles Avenue

Hilton New Orleans St. Charles Avenue, recently acquired by HRI Hospitality ("HRIH"), is pleased to announce the appointment of Shawn McWhorter as General Manager. With over three decades of hospitality experience and 10 years with HRI, McWhorter has established himself as a leader in creating, leading and inspiring teams of hospitality professionals through strategic thinking and pushing creative limits. He joins Hilton New Orleans St. Charles Avenue from The Barnett and Maison Métier, two HRI portfolio properties, where he served as Complex General Manager. Prior to that, McWhorter was the Director of Operations at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Salt Lake City Downtown, where he increased quality assurance scores and built a culture of model service while assisting in hotel renovation oversight. At the same time, McWhorter held the position of Area Director of Food & Beverage while taking on multiple General Manager task force assignments throughout Dallas, Portland, Miami, Jackson Hole and New Orleans.

Omni Hotels & Resorts Plans a 1.000-Key Hotel at New Orleans Convention Center

On January 30, 2025, The Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority (the Authority) approved a headquarters hotel development agreement and ground lease agreement with Omni Hotels & Resorts (Omni) to develop a 1,000-room headquarters hotel projected to be transformative for the city, region and state. These agreements allow Omni to move forward with development as owner and operator of a headquarters hotel across the street from the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. In addition, Omni presented renderings of the new hotel and revealed the logo and name as the Omni New Orleans.

Bryant joins The Barnett and Maison Métier after spending the last year developing his own consulting firm for independent resort properties, KB Hospitality Consulting. Prior to that he was Vice President of Sales at Fontainebleau Miami Beach, where he spent many years leading all sales and commercial revenue generation efforts for the 1,504 room, 4 Diamond luxury hotel property. Bryant also has experience working in the cruise sector, where he held the role of Associate Vice President, Revenue Management at Celebrity Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd in 2016.

McWhorter joins The Barnett and Maison Métier from the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Salt Lake City Downtown where he served as Director of Operations and Area Director of Food & Beverage. Prior to that, McWhorter held multiple management positions across properties including General Manager at Radisson Salt Lake City Downtown and Hilton Salt Lake City Center, where he worked his way up across 16 years from various sales and marketing positions to Director of Operations.
