Ms. O'Reilly brings over 20 years of hospitality experience to her new role as area general manager, having previously served as the director of sales and marketing for the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport, Maine.

Uncommon Hospitality to Open Boutique Hotel in Portland, Maine’s Historic West End District

Maine-based, family-owned hospitality group Uncommon Hospitality announce their newest project, The Longfellow Hotel , designed in partnership with New York-based design firm Post Company. Opening in Summer 2023, The Longfellow will be Post Company's first hotel in Maine delivering a distinctive design and new wellness offering to the city of Portland. The property will be the first independent full-service hotel to open in Portland in 20 years and is the namesake of famed Portland poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Hilton's (NYSE:HLT) lifestyle brand, Canopy by Hilton, and hotel developer Fathom Companies have broken ground to start construction of the 135-room, six-story Canopy by Hilton Portland Waterfront, slated to open spring 2021. Located on the corner of Center and Commercial Streets in Portland, Maine's Old Port neighborhood, the hotel will also be home to an indoor/outdoor rooftop bar and a restaurant overlooking Casco Bay.

Maine's First Cambria Hotel Breaks Ground In Portland

Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH) and Koucar Management celebrate the official start of construction on the state's first Cambria hotel in Portland, Maine. Slated to open in 2021, the new-construction, six-story, 102-room hotel broke ground yesterday during a strong year for the upscale Cambria brand in which six hotels have already opened their doors, with up to seven more hotels representing over 1,100 rooms expected to open in top-tier markets across the country before the year's end.

Jeffery Burrell, general manager of the Westin Portland Harborview, a Rockbridge portfolio hotel, today announced that Deborah Pillatsch has joined the hotel team as director of sales and marketing. Pillatsch previously held the same position at the DoubleTree by Hilton in South Portland. Prior to coming to Portland, Pillatsch was a senior sales manager at the Providence Biltmore and the MGM Grand-Foxwoods. Jeffery Burrell, general manager of the Westin Portland Harborview, a Rockbridge portfolio hotel, today announced the promotion of Brian Anderson to director food and beverage. Anderson previously was the executive chef and will continue in that capacity while assuming additional administrative and front-of-house responsibilities. Prior to joining the Westin Portland Harborview, Anderson was the executive chef at the luxury, four-star W Hotel in Boston, Anderson also served as the chef de cuisine of the Westin Boston Waterfront. He is a graduate of Johnson & Wales prestigious College of Culinary Arts. Located in the heart of Portland's arts district at 157 High Street, the 289-room and suite Westin Portland Harborview is the result of an 18-month, $50 million renovation that transformed a beloved, 1920s era grand dame into the city's most elegant hotel.

Officials of New Castle Hotels & Resorts, a leading hotel owner, operator and developer, today announced the promotion of Lou Gaudio to general manager of the newly renovated and expanded Hilton Garden Inn, at Portland, Maine's International Jetport. Gaudio previously was assistant general manager at the Sheraton Tarrytown in Tarrytown N.Y. and has been with New Castle since 2006 when he joined the company as the rooms division manager at the Woodcliff Lake Hilton. Earlier in his career, Gaudio held varying management positions for Westin branded hotels in Times Square, Philadelphia and Princeton, NJ as well as the Ballantyne Resort Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel. He also held management positions at the New York Palace and The Plaza Hotel.

Previously, Shannon Moore was a task force general manager for New Castle, working in a support role at several Hilton-branded hotels in the management company's portfolio. In her new role, she will oversee the 35-room expansion of the hotel that is expected to be completed mid-year 2014. Throughout her 15-year career, Moore has worked in hotel management for other major brands including Courtyard by Marriott, Comfort Inn and Suites, Travelodge, Clarion and Ramada.
