David is respectfully recognized in the hospitality industry as a sales and marketing leader and branding expert who spearheaded the rebranding of iconic properties such as the Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach, Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, Highlands Inn Carmel, Lodge at Mountain Village Telluride, Le Meridian Beverly Hills (now SLS), and the Marriott Marina Del Rey.

Valery Welton has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at Hotel Contessa, San Antonio

The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, March 2016… Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading U.S.-based hospitality management company, has appointed Valery Welton director of human resources for Hotel Contessa, a Benchmark Hotel located on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas. Troy Mathews, general manager for the luxury suites property, made the announcement. Valery Welton previously served as shipboard human resources manager for Viking Ocean Cruises based in Basel, Switzerland, and for Royal Caribbean International, based in Miami, Florida. Prior to this, Ms. Welton was human resources director for the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama. Ms. Welton is a graduate of Kansas State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She is relocating to San Antonio.

Previously she held a range of positions at hotel properties across the city, including Director of Events at Hilton Palacio del Rio Hotel and Director of Food, Beverage, Catering & Conventions and then Director of Group Sales at The Westin Riverwalk Hotel. She was honored with several awards over 12 years at The Westin Riverwalk, including Team of the Year in 2004; Best in Class for Supervisory Effectiveness from 2001-2007; and Manager of the Year in 2003. Patino also spent eight years as Director of Catering at St. Anthony Hotel in San Antonio.

Jerry Jensen is a hospitality veteran with more than 30 years of experience in hotel sales and marketing. Previously, Mr. Jensen was director of sales and marketing for Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center of Scottsdale, Arizona. He has served in the same role for a variety of properties throughout the western United States, from large downtown convention hotels to boutique resorts, upscale independent properties and major brands. In addition, he has held area and regional director of sales and marketing positions.

Stephen Bilby has joined Hotel Valencia Riverwalk as Director of Sales and Marketing

Prior to joining Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, Bilby started his hospitality career at the Hilton Hotel San Antonio as the Business Travel Manager. He went from there to the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau where he led Corporate Sales efforts for the city into the vital Northeast area of the United States with a focus on New York/New Jersey and became the Associate Director of Sales. Bilby soon became the Director of Sales for The RK Group, the caterer at the San Antonio Convention Center. In that position he lead a catering sales team that tripled the revenue in three years. After opening the RK office in Phoenix, Bilby came back to San Antonio where he re-entered on the Hotel side with HEI Hotels and Resorts at the Crowne Plaza Riverwalk Hotel and then moved over as Senior Sales Manager at the Omni La Mansión del Rio/Mokara Hotel.Bilby holds a Bachelor of Science in Tourism, Parks and Marketing from Texas A&M University.
