Michael O’Donohue has been named General Manager at Pendry San Diego

Pendry Hotels, the new brand established by Montage Hotels & Resorts, is pleased to announce Michael O’Donohue as General Manager of their first hotel, Pendry San Diego, in San Diego’s historic Gaslamp District. With over 22 years of experience in luxury hotel management, O’Donohue joins Pendry with an extensive and diverse hospitality background. He spent the last ten years working in various positions at Starwood Hotels & Resorts, most recently as General Manager of W San Diego, where he spent three years overseeing the 258 room hotel. Before that, he was the Hotel Manager at W Atlanta Midtown. Prior to his tenure at Starwood Hotels & Resorts, O’Donohue worked at Intercontinental Hotels and Hilton Hotels.

Tricia Sterling has been appointed as Spa Director at Kona Kai Resort & Spa

Matthew Adams has been appointed as Area Vice President and General Manager at Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego

In his new role, Adams will oversee Grand Hyatt San Diego's entire operation. Most recently he held the title of vice president, France for seven Hyatt properties. Brad Naucler has been appointed as General Manager at Kona Kai Resort & Spa

Noble House Hotels & Resorts – a collection of luxury hotels and resorts – proudly announces the promotion of Brad Naucler to General Manager of Kona Kai Resort & Spa, located at the tip of Shelter Island in San Diego. In this role, Naucler will provide leadership and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the resort. Prior to joining the Kona Kai Resort & Spa team, Naucler served as director of sales at Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa, where he was responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, drive sales and create brand awareness. Throughout his years of experience, Naucler spent much of his career is a progression of sales and leadership positions including director of sales and marketing at Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa, where he managed 11 directors and managers in achieving $30 million in hotel revenue budget.

Rob Castellucci has been promoted to Senior Director of Business Development at TRUSTYOU

TrustYou has promoted Rob Castellucci to Senior Director of Business Development. In his new position, Castellucci will be responsible for growing TrustYou’s client base in the Americas and will be based in TrustYou’s rapidly growing San Diego headquarters. Castellucci joined TrustYou in 2013 as the Senior Director of Key Account Management, where he oversaw principal clients in the US, Australia, and New Zealand. Prior to joining TrustYou, Castellucci served as Cvent’s Sales Executive for Strategic Accounts, handling the company’s largest hospitality clients. He earned his BS from Clemson University and brings over a decade of experience to the hospitality industry.

Bob Frear has been named Director of Sales at Pendry San Diego

Jason Herthel, Montage Hotels & Resorts’ President and Chief Operating Officer, announced the appointment of Bob Frear as Director of Sales and Marketing at the first Pendry Hotels property, Pendry San Diego. In this role, Frear will be responsible for all sales and marketing efforts for the hotel, including group and leisure sales activities.Frear first joined Montage Hotels & Resorts in July 2002 as part of the pre-opening team at Montage Laguna Beach. He oversaw the sales efforts that successfully launched the award-winning resort, ultimately setting new RevPAR records in Southern California. Most recently, as Director of Brand Sales for Montage Hotels & Resorts, he was responsible for group and leisure sales, as well as revenue management for the company. Additionally, Frear has been instrumental in developing the company’s regional sales offices in the northeast, southeast and western regions.

Sergio Bocci has been appointed as General Manager at DoubleTree by Hilton San Diego Mission Valley

Sergio Bocci has three decades of hospitality experience with Hilton Worldwide hotels in Southern California and Mexico in the areas of rooms management, housekeeping, and guest services. He most recently served as hotel manager at the 1600-room Hilton Anaheim, where he led the $13 million renovation of the Mix Lounge, Starbucks, guestroom corridors and the new chef’s table of this flagship hotel. Included his tenure are noted Hilton Worldwide properties including The Beverly Hilton, La Quinta Resort and Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort and Hilton Los Cabos. During his time as the executive assistant manager at Hilton Los Cabos the hotel was awarded the Connie Award for two consecutive years.

Chris (Christof) Luedi has been appointed as General Manager and Regional VP at Fairmont Grand Del Mar

Fairmont’s newest property, Fairmont Grand Del Mar, is pleased to announce the appointment of general manager and regional vice president, Christof Luedi. Based in San Diego, Luedi will also carry out management responsibilities for the brand’s Hawaii region. Luedi brings over 25 years of hospitality experience to this position, beginning his career in Arizona. Most recently he was regional vice president, Hawaii and general manager, Fairmont Orchid.

Dan Kaplan has been appointed as General Manager at Hard Rock Hotel San Diego

Hard Rock Hotel San Diego has named hospitality veteran Dan Kaplan, former area managing director with HEI Hotels and Resorts and general manager of the San Diego Marriott La Jolla, as the hotel’s new general manager. Kaplan brings over two decades of successful management experience at several of the country’s leading hotel brands to the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego. He will oversee day-to-day operations, lead group and transient business growth and ensure a flawless guest experience based upon Hard Rock Hotel San Diego’s signature rock star brand of service. His new charge includes overseeing the hotel’s 420 guestrooms and suites, 40,000 square-feet of event and meeting space, as well as the hotel’s signature Maryjane’s restaurant, Rock Spa, Float rooftop lounge and 207 nightclub.

J Peter Lynn has been promoted to Area General Manager at Hilton Worldwide

Hilton San Diego Bayfront’s General Manager has been promoted as Area General Manager for San Diego by Hilton Worldwide. J Peter Lynn began his career in hospitality more than 30 years ago. Lynn has a proven record of driving business at numerous properties and successfully managing multi-million dollar projects. In 2008, Hilton San Diego Bayfront opened under Lynn’s management, and since then the hotel has achieved numerous recognitions and awards. Most recently Hilton San Diego Bayfront was named the ‘#6 Top Meeting Hotel in the US’ by Cvent and one of the ‘Best Places to Work in San Diego’ by the San Diego Business Journal. Prior to his tenure at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, Lynn served as General Manager of The Palmer House – A Hilton Hotel, where he spearheaded the property’s $170 million-dollar restoration. In addition to continuing to be the day-to-day general manager for Hilton San Diego Bayfront, where he was named Sunstone Hotel Investors’ 2012 General Manager of the Year, Lynn will also oversee Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Diego Mission Valley and Embassy Suites La Jolla. J Peter Lynn and his wife Lisa, have been married for twenty-two years and have two teenage boys. The whole family enjoys the outdoors and living the active San Diego lifestyle.
