Asmara Mazur has been promoted to Front Office Manager at InterContinental Mark Hopkins

Asmara Mazur joined the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in 2013 in a management training program at the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort in Thailand. After some time with the Atlantis The Palm in Dubai in the guest relations office, Asmara moved back to Thailand to work for the InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam as Resort Assistant Manager. She later returned to the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort as the Club InterContinental Manager, where she opened the new lounge and managed the Club team. She moved to San Francisco in 2016 where she began as Night Manager at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins, overseeing the front desk, bell service, and instant service team in addition to housekeeping and food and beverage during overnight hours. Mazur was most recently promoted to Front Office Manager for the InterContinental Mark Hopkins team.

Lindley Stovall has been appointed as Catering Sales Manager at InterContinental San Francisco and InterContinental Mark Hopkins

New Catering Sales Manager Lindley Stovall is working with both the InterContinental San Francisco and InterContinental Mark Hopkins teams. The hospitality professional brings experience with luxury brands, restaurants, and hotels to her new position as well as a degree in Business Administration and Hospitality Industry Management. She was most recently a Sales Coordinator for the Omni Hotel in San Francisco.

Andrea Walsh has been promoted to Director of Rooms at InterContinental Mark Hopkins

Andrea Walsh has been promoted from Director of Front Desk Operations to Director of Rooms for the InterContinental Mark Hopkins. Prior to moving to San Francisco, Walsh worked in various positions in the hospitality industry in Colorado including Owner and Director for Serenity Spa and Salon, Director of Front Desk Operations and General Manager for East West Resorts’ luxury Poste Montane Hotel and Director of Rooms for Keystone Resorts under the Vail Resorts, Inc. portfolio, where she oversaw front office, guest services, and housekeeping operations.

Don Harms has been appointed as Area Director of Safety and Security at InterContinental San Francisco and InterContinental Mark Hopkins

Don Harms is the new Area Director of Safety and Security for the InterContinental San Francisco and InterContinental Mark Hopkins. He brings more than 20 years of experience to the team, having worked with the Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas in Hawaii, California’s Great America in Santa Clara, the Port of Oakland, and most recently, the Hyatt Regency San Francisco. Harms also has training and experience in security logistics at major events from professional sporting events, concerts, festivals, and parades to events with high ranking government officials.

Abby Derohanian has been promoted to Director of Housekeeping at InterContinental Mark Hopkins

Recently promoted to Director of Housekeeping, Abby Derohanian first joined the InterContinental Mark Hopkins team as Assistant Front Office Manager in 2014. She brings more than ten years of experience to her new position, having worked in a number of positions in the hospitality industry in Connecticut ranging from guest services to innkeeper to sales and catering. She was most recently the Front Office Manager for the InterContinental Mark Hopkins, managing day-to-day operations, monitoring hotel guest satisfaction, handling guest issues, among other responsibilities for the historic property.

Scott Gingerich has been appointed as Vice President of Restaurant & Bars, West. at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants

In this new role Gingerich will run Kimpton’s locally inspired bars and restaurants in the East and West respectively. He’ll partner with the executive chef and on-property teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences and generate a profitable bottom line for Kimpton’s more than 80 restaurants and bars, according to the brand. Gingerich will work closely F&B leadership to develop key food and beverage initiatives and expand Kimpton’s international footprint.

Daniel Zomerfeld has joined InterContinental San Francisco as Director of Outlets

Daniel Zomerfeld joins the InterContinental San Francisco as the Director of Outlets, bringing 17 years of experience to the team. With a degree in business, a three-year hospitality apprenticeship at the Hotel Watthof, and two years in various roles with the four-star Hotel Hafen Hamburg, both in Germany, Daniel is well versed in front- and back-of-house management positions. Prior to joining the InterContinental San Francisco, he spent more than eight years at the Taj Campton Place Hotel in San Francisco, working in numerous roles from banquets to the hotel’s two-Michelin star restaurant. Zomerfeld will support the Director of Food and Beverage in all aspects of the hotel from banquets and room service to the Michelin-star restaurant Luce and Bar 888

Greg Schmidt has been appointed as General Manager at AC Hotel San Francisco Airport/Oyster Point Waterfront

Greg’s hospitality career spans 25 years, beginning at the ripe age of 17, when he accepted his first job in the hotel industry as a waiter at the Courtyard by Marriott in Brentwood, TN. Since then, Greg has held positions at five brands under the Marriott umbrella, including The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco Marriott Marquis, Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn and, most recently, the Residence Inn by Marriott in San Diego, where he served as General Manager. Greg is particularly excited to take on his role at the new waterfront AC Hotel at Oyster Point.Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from San Jose State University, and is a certified life coach through Marriott.
