SH Hotels & Resorts, the sustainable hotel brand management company founded by hospitality visionary Barry Sternlicht, today announced plans to take over Seattle's Pan Pacific Hotel, which will be transformed into 1 Hotel Seattle in 2025. Set in the trendsetting South Lake Union neighborhood, the hotel is known for its ideal location— near downtown, the Climate Pledge Arena, and Amazon's headquarters. The views from the hotel are spectacular, with many of the rooms overlooking Seattle's famed Space Needle. Seattle Hotel Market: A Shining Beacon of the Pacific Northwest

A key driver of Seattle’s leisure demand is its cruise industry. In 2023, the number of Alaska cruises reached 291, a record number compared to 213 in 2019. The Port of Seattle estimates the annual impact of a cruise season on the region at $900 million. This demand particularly benefits local hotels, as passengers typically stay overnight in Seattle before and/or after their trip.

Dale Johnson has been appointed as General Manager at Kimpton Palladian Hotel Seattle

General Manager Dale Johnson joined Kimpton Palladian Hotel Seattle earlier this year to lead the property's hotel and F&B operations. Dale brings decades of hospitality operations experience, including several years of general manager experience at another Kimpton property in the Pacific Northwest. Dale began his career with Hilton, honing his leadership skills in markets across the United States including at the Embassy Suites in Memphis, DoubleTree in Boston and Campbell, CA, and the Inn at Penn in Philadelphia. Dale joined Kimpton in 2021 as general manager at Kimpton Hotel Vintage in Portland, where he successfully relaun ched the property's food and beverage program. Dale holds a degree from Southern Illinois University and resides in Seattle. In his spare time, Dale is an avid traveler and enjoys photography.

A-1 Hospitality Group Awarded Management of Two Sea-Tac Airport Hotels

A-1 Hospitality Group, a family owned and operated hotel management and development company based in Kennewick, Washington today announced that it has been awarded new management contracts on the Hampton Inn by Hilton Seattle Airport and the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Seattle Sea-Tac Airport. Both properties are owned by Airport Investment Company, Inc. of Seattle, Washington.

Mohammed Khan has been appointed as Director of Operations at Grand Hyatt Seattle

Mohammed Khan, the new director of operations, is a Washingtonian and has worked in hospitality since 2010, starting his career while attending college. He was most recently the assistant director of operations for the Hyatt group, A Seattle Collection, having been promoted to that role from the director of rooms in 2022. Khan is tasked with ensuring the highest levels of guest satisfaction, colleague satisfaction, cleanliness, building functionality, financial success and hospitality, according to the Hyatt tradition.

Manfred Steuerwald has been appointed as General Manager at Grand Hyatt Seattle

Steuerwald has over 40 years of experience working in the hospitality industry. In 1998, he began his Hyatt career working as a sous chef at Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman. Over the ensuing decades, he worked at the Grand Hyatt Kauai in Hawaii, as the executive chef at Manchester Grand Hyatt in California and Hyatt Regency Denver and then as the director of operations at Grand Hyatt Denver and director of food and beverage at Manchester Grand Hyatt. In 2019, Steuerwald transferred to Canada to be the general manager of Hyatt Regency Calgary, a hotel he served in as executive chef 20 years before. Prior to joining the Grand Hyatt Seattle team, he was the general manager of Resort at Squaw Creek, a Destination by Hyatt property.

Chris Jacoby has been appointed as Director of Sales at Grand Hyatt Seattle

Grand Hyatt's new director of sales, Chris Jacoby, has over 20 years of experience working in hotel sales and marketing management in the luxury and lifestyle sector. He brings a passion for branding and positioning to this new role, in which he will focus on reintroducing the property to meeting and event planners and leisure and business travelers as the luxury hotel of choice in Seattle.

Jon Park has been appointed as Senior Sous Chef at LOTTE HOTEL SEATTLE

Jon Park, joins Lotte Hotel Seattle as Senior Sous Chef, to work closely in the kitchen creating new recipes. Previously, he served as the Sous Chef at Seattle Tennis Club and Sous Chef at Bunsoy and Purple Cafe & Wine Bar in Seattle. He began his career at Chiso Sushi and graduated from Seattle University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. Park has experience with staff training, special events and catering, food plating and presentation, culinary trends, and more. He is passionate about not only providing guests a delicious meal, but providing them a memorable dining experience.

Antonio Giovanni Artale has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at LOTTE HOTEL SEATTLE

Another local talent, Antonio Giovanni Artale, Director of Food & Beverage, takes the helm after serving as Director of Food & Beverage outlets at The Chartler Hotel, CURIO Collection by Hilton in Seattle, Restaurant General Manager at Afuri Izakaya in Oregon, and Restaurant General Manager at The Porter Hotel, CURIO Collection by Hilton in Portland. In addition to managing hotel fine dining in the United States, Artale has experience leading fast-paced restaurants and popular bars in Sicily.

Jesse Olsen has been appointed as Executive Chef at LOTTE HOTEL SEATTLE

Chef Jesse Olsen joins Lotte Hotel Seattle with over 30 years of experience in the culinary field helming the kitchens of luxury hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants around the world. A Seattle native, he'll draw on his wealth of experience to oversee the menu design and execution at Charlotte Restaurant & Lounge, the hotel's contemporary dining venue dedicated to showcasing the Pacific Northwest cuisine. Chef Olsen comes to Lotte Hotel Seattle with over three decades of culinary experience, from Michelin- starred restaurants to leading luxury hotels and private establishments. He most recently served as Executive Chef of the Seattle Tennis Club and prior to the club, the Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland and Four Seasons Hotels in Seattle. His earlier career includes tenures at Four Seasons Hotels in California, and Hawaii, Egypt, Mahe Island, and Seychelles. A Washington state native, Olsen studied at Western Culinary Institute in Portland, Oregon.
