Houston’s The Woodlands Resort Joins Curio Collection By Hilton

The Woodlands Resort, a landmark destination spanning an expanse of lush acreage in the heart of The Woodlands, a short drive from IAH airport and 30 miles north of downtown Houston, today becomes the first Curio Collection by Hilton branded resort in Texas. The 402-room, AAA Four Diamond property with 75,000 square feet of indoor meeting and event space - as well as an array of picturesque outdoor function areas - is slated for an extensive program of enhancements projected to begin in Q2. A guest room model is anticipated for a spring unveiling. The entirety of the multi-million-dollar project is being carefully planned to minimize interruptions to the guest experience.

The Woodlands Resort, a landmark destination spanning an expanse of lush acreage in the heart of The Woodlands, a short drive from IAH airport and 30 miles north of downtown Houston, will soon become the first Curio Collection by Hilton branded resort in Texas. Along with its January 4, 2022 transition to the upper upscale portfolio, the 402-room, AAA Four Diamond property with 75,000 square feet of indoor meeting and event space - as well as an array of picturesque outdoor function areas - is slated for an extensive program of enhancements projected to begin in Q2 2022. A guest room model is anticipated for a spring unveiling. The entirety of the multi-million-dollar project is being carefully planned to minimize interruptions to the guest experience.

Deborah E. Tant has been appointed as Controller at Doug Pitcock ’49 Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center

BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Deborah E. Tant controller for the Doug Pitcock '49 Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center, which is nearing completion in College Station, Texas. The Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property is expected to open this month. Greg Stafford, general manager, made the announcement.

Christiaan “Tiaan” Homann has been appointed as Director of Rooms at Doug Pitcock ’49 Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center

BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Christiaan "Tiaan" Homann director of rooms for the Doug Pitcock '49 Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center, currently under construction in College Station, Texas. The Benchmark Resorts & Hotelsproperty is expected to open in August. Greg Stafford, general manager, made the announcement.

Lynn Pollock has been appointed as director of catering and conference services at The Chattanoogan, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels

BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Lynn Pollock director of catering and conference services for The Chattanoogan, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property located in the revitalized center of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Tom Cupo, regional managing director, made the announcement. Lynn Pollock was previously assistant director of catering & conference services for the Grand Wailea Resort in Wailea, Maui, Hawaii for over 16 years. Prior to that, Ms. Pollock held the position of director of catering at the Silvertree Hotel in Aspen, Colorado, and the Wyndham Chicago, Chicago, Illinois.

Jeff Henschel has been appointed as Director of Information Technology at Benchmark Hospitality International

Jeff Henschel previously led his own IT consulting firm, serving leading US hospitality management companies. Prior to this he was vice president of technology for Destination Hotels and Resorts. Earlier in his career, Mr. Henschel held senior-level information technology positions for hotel management companies based in the Midwest and southern United States. He began his career working in software services and publishing. Jeff Henschel has been the recipient of several Peak Performance awards, and has been previously named Employee of the Year. He has served on numerous industry and community advisory councils and organizational boards. Mr. Henschel and his wife are relocating to The Woodlands.

Tom Martone has been appointed as National Sales Manager at The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center

Prior to joining The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center as Sales Manager, Tom Martone served as Director of Sales and Marketing for the Embassy Suites Houston-Energy Corridor and Associate Director for the Embassy Suites Phoenix-Scottsdale Resort. He has also held positions with Ritz-Carlton and Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in Los Angeles and Rancho Mirage, California; Orlando; and Houston. Martone began his career after receiving a Bachelors degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Heather Tutor has been appointed as National Sales Manager at The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center

Heather Tutor will focus on booking Association business; Sports and Entertainment; Social, Military, Educational, Religious, Fraternal (SMERF) market segments as well as meetings from Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Washington D.C. Austin and San Antonio. Tom Martone will be responsible for the northeast United States. Previously, Tutor served as Catering Manager for The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center. She has held positions at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg, Florida and the Crowne Plaza Resort in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Tutor began her career after receiving a Bachelors degree in Hospitality Administration from Florida State University.
