Javier Águila has been appointed as Chief Growth Officer at Hyatt

Javier Águila, who has been leading Hyatt's EAME region to significant growth and performance since 2022, is being appointed as Hyatt's new Chief Growth Officer, effective July 1, 2025, in addition to his recently announced role as President, Inclusive Collection, effective March 1, 2025. In his new global role, Águila will oversee Hyatt's overall growth through development strategy and execution as well as transactions. He will remain in the EAME leadership role and support Jacheet in his transition between March 17 and June 30, 2025, after which time both will fully assume their new roles and Águila will continue to report to Hoplamazian.

Felicity Black-Roberts has been promoted to SVP Development for EAME at Hyatt

In her new role, Felicity will lead Hyatt's growth initiatives across the EAME region, overseeing a diverse and growing team of subregional developers. Latest additions to her team include Anna Corkill as Regional Vice President of Development for the UK and Ireland, Gabriela Basovska as Director of Development for Northern Europe, and Carlos Paredes as Director of Development for Southern Europe, who previously focused on Hyatt"s all inclusive portfolio. Briana Swift, recently awarded with the ISHC Young Leader Award, has been promoted to Regional Vice President Western Europe earlier this year.

Thomas Maechler has been appointed as General Manager at La Réserve Eden au Lac

Thomas Maechler has been appointed as the new General Manager of La Réserve Eden au Lac in Zurich. A Zurich native, Maechler brings over 25 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry to this role when he begins on September 1. Before joining La Réserve, Thomas was General Manager at the Beau-Rivage Hotel in Neuchâtel for 16 years. He has also held positions at The Peninsula Hong Kong, The Pierre New York and The Drake New York. Thomas is currently on the Executive Committee of Relais & Châteaux and on the Executive Board of Swiss Deluxe Hotels.

Sandra Wigger has been promoted to General Manager at IntercityHotel Zurich Airport

30-year old Sandra Wigger began her career by training as a hotel specialist at the Mövenpick Hotel Zurich Airport and has continued to expand her knowledge base ever since. In September 2019, she obtained a degree level qualification in "Hospitality Controlling & Hotel Asset Management" after completing a 6-month course of study at the IST University of Applied Sciences. Sandra Wigger was employed at the Steigenberger Bellerive au Lac between November 2014 and December 2019. She held positions as Front Office Manager and then as Rooms Division Manager during this period before making the switch to IntercityHotel GmbH on 1 January 2020.

Olivier Gerber has been appointed as General Manager at Alex, Lake Zurich

Leo Maissen has been promoted to Chief Development Officer at Tschuggen Hotel Group

Today, June 30, marks both the Tschuggen Grand Hotel’s summer opening, and the final season under general management of eight-year veteran at the property, Leo Maissen. Maissen will be promoted to Chief Development Officer of the Tschuggen Hotel Group and will be succeeded by Stefan Noll in the autumn, beginning September 1, 2017. Creative ideas are a speciality of Maissen's. Kicking off his final season as General Manager will be the Tour de Swiss. From June 30-July 2, 2017, a biking tour stretching nearly 112 miles, and spanning altitudes of approximately a mile and a half between the Tschuggen Grand Hotel in Arosa, and the Hotel Eden Roc in Ascona will welcome this summer’s active guests.
