Alfred Chan has been appointed as Group General Manager - Hotel Operations & Brand Development at Hotel Ease, Hotel Ease Access and Minimal Hotels

Mr. Alfred Chan, bringing over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including leadership roles in Metropark Hotel Kowloon and Kew Green Hotel Wanchai, and management positions in various sizeable hotels, assumes the position of Group General Manager - Hotel Operations & Brand Development of Hotel Ease, Hotel Ease Access and Minimal Hotels (total 10 hotels with 930 guestrooms). Alfred has joined Tang's Living Group as the General Manager of Hotel Ease‧Tsuen Wan and Hotel Ease Access‧Tsuen Wan since 2018, and has been assisting actively in enhancing brand awareness and development. Hotel Ease‧Tsuen Wan has become the first hotel in Asia to receive the Certified B Corporation® Recognition (B Corp™) in 2019. And Hotel Ease Access will expand its portfolio with a new property opening in 2021 - Hotel Ease Access‧Lai Chi Kok.

Mr. Henry Tse, current General Manager of Hotel COZi, is now appointed as the Group General Manager - Hotel Operations & Brand Development of Hotel COZi, Bay Bridge Lifestyle Retreat and Commune (managing 5 hotels and a co-living space, 2,382 guestrooms in total). Henry's commitment to Tang's Living Group extends back to 2017, when he first joined Hotel COZi as Hotel Manager and was part of the hotel's pre-opening management team. Prior to joining Tang's Living Group, Henry had gained over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry and served various management positions at hotels such as Dorsett Tsuen Wan Hong Kong and Silka Far East Hotel. With his extensive experience and in-depth insight, he helped steer the team to a successful opening and led Hotel COZi to greater heights in terms of hotel performance, service standards and positive brand reputation.

Shangri-La Centre, Wuhan Celebrates Soft Opening

Shangri-La Centre, Wuhan, the second phase of the Shangri-La Group's Wuhan Development project celebrates its soft opening today as the city continues its business recovery following the COVID-19 Pandemic. Located in Hankou Financial Street, the Shangri-La Centre is connected with the existing five-star hotel Shangri-La Hotel, Wuhan, serviced apartments, and meeting facilities. The site is also equipped with spa and fitness facilities, as well as a flexible outdoor event space and will serve as a commercial complex for discerning travellers and corporates as part of a revitalisation of the city's financial centre.

Steigenberger launches in China

Welcome to China. Deutsche Hospitality is planning to open two new Steigenberger Hotels in Haiyan on the South China Sea coast 100 kilometres southwest of Shanghai at the start of 2022. Both properties are being developed as part of the Hangzhou Bay Sunac Cultural Tourism City, a new tourist and cultural destination which is currently under construction. The hotels will be built on a 291-hectare location which will also be home to four leisure parks, a shopping centre and a residential district. An exclusive partnership agreement was signed during a ceremonial inspection visit to the construction site.

Adam Cheng has been appointed as General Manager at Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Nanshan

Mr. Cheng began his hospitality career as Management Trainee in Eaton Hotel, Hong Kong. He joined Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Nanshan in January 2015, the brand's flagship hotel in Asia Pacific, as General Manager for hotel's pre-opening. The expertise Mr. Cheng demonstrated during daily operations, team-coaching, leadership and customer service has enabled him to be particular about details when it comes to these projects. Under Mr. Cheng's guidance, the hotel managed to generate net operating profit (NOP) in the first full month operation and was awarded the Food & Beverage Operation of the Year and Financial Excellence Award and Hotel of the Year in 2017. Additionally, Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Nanshan ranked first out of 2,800 hotels in the market for 18 consecutive months from 2016 to 2017 on Tripadvisor.
