Hilton Worldwide today announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Jiaxing, the brand's 16th property in China and the first internationally-branded full service hotel in Jiaxing. The hotel is owned by the Jiaxing Yongxin Development Co., Ltd.

Tobias Pfister joins as the new Executive Chef of Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel, having worked as Executive Sous Chef for eight years at the world’s most luxurious hotel Burj Al Arab in Dubai. Originally from Germany, Tobias has over 18 years’ experience in the industry across Germany, Switzerland, London, Dubai and now Shanghai. Before Dubai, Tobias worked with star chefs including the legendary Swiss chef Anton Mosiman. In his new role, Tobias will oversee the operation of five outlets and banqueting facilities at Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel.
A French national, Alice Mafaity has over 14 years of hospitality experience. In 2007 Alice joined Jumeirah as Assistant Food and Beverage Director at Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai. More recently, she worked as the Director of Food and Beverage for Mina A’ Salam Hotel, one of the three hotels in the Madinat Jumeirah Resort Dubai, responsible for the management of nine restaurants and bars. Roland Steiner has been appointed general manager of the Crowne Plaza Beijing Sun Palace. He moves to the hotel from the Crowne Plaza Beijing Park View Wuzhou, where he was also GM. Steiner will continue in his other role as IHG’s director of operations for central-north China.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced that Lars van der Most has been appointed general manager of Le Méridien Yixing. The Dutch national, fluent in English, French and German, began his hotel career at Sheraton Shengyang Hotel in 2003. He has since built up a wealth of experience in senior management positions with leading hotel chains all over the world, and was previously assistant executive manager of the Westin Bund Center Shanghai.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has signed a management agreement with Zhejiang Yinan Group Co. Ltd. to operate a 336-room hotel opening in Shaoxing, China in 2017.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) today announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with Shenzhen Ping’An Financial Centre Construction and Development Co., Ltd. for a Park Hyatt hotel in Futian district, Shenzhen, China. Park Hyatt Shenzhen, Futian will join Grand Hyatt Shenzhen, which opened in 2009.
CapitaLand's wholly-owned serviced residence business unit, The Ascott Limited, has secured contracts to manage three more properties, adding 567 apartment units in China, including its first serviced residence in Hefei. The 250-unit Somerset Swan Lake Hefei is slated to open in 2017 while the 150-unit Ascott Nanbin Chongqing and 167-unit Somerset Software Park Xiamen are both slated to open in 2015.
