Fiji Gateway Hotel Unveils New Rooms and Expanded Dining

Paula Vatunicoko has been appointed as Resort Manager at OUTRIGGER’s Castaway Island

Vatunicoko first joined the Castaway Island, Fiji Resort as Executive Housekeeper in August 2019. He left in November 2020 to join Radisson Blu Fiji as their Executive Housekeeper from December 2020 to June 2021 and rejoined Castaway in December 2021. Before initially joining Castaway in 2019, Vatunicoko had spent more than fifteen years at the exclusive 7-star Lalucala Island Resort where he held various roles including Administration Manager, Concierge Manager, overseeing front office operations, events & weddings and activities. Vatunicoko holds a Bachelor of Commerce in human resources management and services and hospitality administration/management in addition to a diploma in international politics, all from Fiji National University.

Louise Smythe has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Six Senses Fiji

From her very first role at the Ritz in London, Louise knew the hospitality industry was her passion. After five years in the city, she traveled to New Zealand and fell in love with the lifestyle, the beautiful landscapes, and the people. She was fortunate to be offered several opportunities including a position with The Regent Hotel. She also oversaw several openings and worked for the New Zealand sailing team in the America's Cup Regatta before finally finding her niche within the luxury travel segment.

Kaydee George has been appointed as General Manager at Club Wyndham Denarau Island

Prior to this move, she was area general manager Gold Coast, based at Wyndham Surfers Paradise. George first joined Wyndham in 2012 as a conference and events manager in Dunsborough, Western Australia, before being promoted to various resort management roles in Australia and New Zealand. She is also part of the Queensland Government's Young Tourism Leaders programme, which provides influential and inspiring role models to encourage young people to consider a career in the tourism industry.

Logan Miller has been appointed as General Manager at Nanuku, Auberge Resorts Collection

Born and raised in Fiji, Miller received a Bachelor of Commerce in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the Blue Mountains Hotel School in Sydney, Australia. After graduation, he began a one-year intensive Manager In Training program at Four Seasons Sydney, where he learned all aspects of food and beverage operations management before working full-time at the property. An innate globetrotter, Miller spent a year working while traveling throughout Europe until he eventually moved to the United States and landed at Amangani Resort in Wyoming as a Guest Services Manager. After almost two years, he left the cold to return home to sunny Fiji and officially join the Auberge and Nanuku family as Director of Food and Beverage. Most recently, he acted as Director of Operations for Calistoga Ranch, Auberge Resorts Collection in Napa where his nurturing personality made a positive impact on guests and employees alike.
