Over the past 10 years, Serdar has played a pivotal role in shaping the company's fine collection of more than 300 privately owned member hotels. In 2014, he took leadership of the distinctive Design Hotels™ Brand as Vice President Brand, Marketing & Communication, and in 2017, as Executive Vice President Brand & Strategy, aligning the company's brand ideation with its expanding vision to create original, meaningful hospitality experiences. Serdar, who holds a Master's Degree in International Business Administration from the University of Vienna, brings the fundamentals and the creativity to further drive innovation and consolidate internal processes while conveying the company culture and positioning Design Hotels™ as one of the most sophisticated brands in the industry. 

New Intercity flagship hotel in Frankfurt is ready to open

The waiting has come to an end. The new flagship of the IntercityHotel brand is about to go live and will welcome its very first guests from 1 December 2018. The IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Sd is located on the South side of Frankfurt Central Station. It has 414 rooms and is thus the largest of the around 40 properties which currently make up the IntercityHotel portfolio.

Leonardo Hotel Planned In The Frankfurt Europaallee

The Leonardo Hotels, currently operating more than 150 hotels in Europe, are planning to open a fourth hotel in Frankfurt am Main. The Leonardo Hotel in Europaallee 94 is being built next to a 66-meter-high office tower and is due to open in 2021. Two more properties are set to open in Offenbach and Eschborn in 2020. Thereby, increasing the number of Leonardo Hotels in the Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region to six.

Berlin Makes Way for Third Hampton by Hilton Property

Berlin has officially welcomed its third Hampton by Hilton property, the global value hotel brand by Hilton (NYSE:HLT). Hampton by Hilton Berlin East Side Gallery opens as the bustling metropolis continues to expand its hospitality offering to accommodate the city's rising number of visitors. The property joins Hampton by Hilton Berlin City West and Hampton by Hilton Berlin City Centre Alexanderplatz within the capital, whilst also becoming the brand's ninth Hampton by Hilton hotel in Germany.

Markus Wölflik has been appointed as General Manager at Steigenberger Hotel Zingst

47-year old Markus Wölflik took over as General Manager of the Steigenberger Hotel Zingst on 15 October 2018. Mr. Wölflik is able to look back on 26 years of experience in the upscale hotel sector both in Germany and abroad. His most recent role was as Director of the 5-star Grand Hotel Binz, which is located on the island of Rügen and owned by the Private Palace Hotels & Resorts Group.In his new capacity as General Manager, Mr. Wölflik will head up both the Steigenberger Strandhotel and the Aparthotel in Zingst in future. Both offer a fabulous location directly on the promenade at the very heart of the Baltic resort of Zingst. The town centre is only 50 metres away, and the beach can be reached on foot in a mere two minutes. Numerous nearby cycling and hiking pathways also provide an ideal opportunity to explore Zingst and the surrounding area.

Mario Maxeiner has been appointed as Managing Director Northern Europe at IHG

Currently IHG's Vice President Commercial in Greater China, Mario Maxeiner joined IHG in 2015, bringing over 20 years of commercial experience in the hospitality industry, including 17 years with Starwood Hotels and Resorts in regional and global roles. For the past two years, he has led strategic initiatives to drive commercial performance and grow IHG market share in China. Maxeiner will be responsible for driving the sustainable and long term growth of IHG and the performance of its franchised hotels in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, Scandinavia and Poland.

Hyatt announces plans for 2nd Hyatt House in Frankfurt, Germany

Hyatt announced today that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a franchise agreement with HR Group for a Hyatt House hotel in Frankfurt, Germany. The hotel will be integrated into FOUR Frankfurt, a large mixed use development in the center of the city by Groß & Partner, that will be comprised of four towers and will include residential and office facilities, as well as retail spaces and hotels.

Opened July 1 in the central German city of Göttingen, Hotel Freigeist Göttingen is a hive of creativity and inclusion.
