NOVUM Hospitality and the HP&P Group of Giessen have signed a deal to develop a niu hotel in Cologne. Located on Lina Bommer Weg, the hotel will be just ten minutes from the city centre and Cologne Bonn Airport. With around 120 rooms, this new hotel from the innovative millennial brand of niu will open its doors at the end of 2019. "In the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Cologne is the top choice for overnight stays," says David Etmenan, owner and chief executive of NOVUM Hospitality. "Demand from international guests is constantly rising. So for our unique hotel concept of niu we see huge potential."

Steigenberger Hotels AG has made early arrangements to secure a long-term extension to the agreement for the Steigenberger Hotel Conti Hansa in Kiel. This means that the hotel will form part of the Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts portfolio until at least 2036. An extensive renovation programme has also been agreed with the building's owner Internos Global Investors. Renovation works will bring the hotel up to the enhanced standards that now apply following the further development of Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts.

An IntercityHotel will open at the main railway station in Flensburg in 2020. It will feature the design concept of the Italian architect Matteo Thun, whose work can already be admired at the IntercityHotels in Braunschweig and Duisburg.
At the heart of the vibrant business metropolis, between the railway terminus and the financial district, one of more than 35 planned NOVUM Hospitality niu hotels is being built. According to current planning, the hotel with 189 rooms is due to open at Niddastrasse 60-62 at the end of 2018. "The capacity on the Frankfurt hotel market has grown over the past few years, as we too have recognised, and that is why we are delighted with the extremely central location. And it won"t stop with just one niu hotel in Frankfurt," reveals David Etmenan, CEO and owner of NOVUM Hospitality. NOVUM has partnered up with Commerz Real, as the proprietor, as well as GOLD.STEIN real estate M+E GmbH & Co.KG, as the project developer, for this project. With an increase of around 18% since 2014, the growth of journeys in the luxury travel segment is almost twice as high as that of all foreign trips. All foreign trips rose by around 9% during the period. This is the result of a special evaluation of the World Travel Monitor on behalf of ITB Berlin. According to the study, Germany is the most popular destination in Europe. In the analysis, international trips were defined as all outbound short trips of up to three nights with expenses of more than 750 euros per night, as well as all longer stays abroad from four nights with expenses of more than 500 euros per night. In 2016, around 54 million luxury trips were made abroad. The market share of luxury travel rose to around 7% in 2016.
Hyatt announced today the opening of Hyatt House Düsseldorf/Andreas Quartier, marking the entry of the Hyatt House brand into the European market, and the fourth Hyatt House branded hotel to open outside the U.S. in 2017.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) today announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a franchise agreement with HR Group for a Hyatt House hotel in Frankfurt, Germany. Expected to open in late 2019, the hotel will be owned by benchmark. REAL Estate Development GmbH and will be leased and managed by HR Group. Hyatt House Frankfurt/Eschborn will mark the second Hyatt House and third select service hotel for Hyatt in Germany, an important step towards increasing Hyatt"s portfolio throughout the country.

The niu growth engine is going full speed ahead, with over 35 niu hotels currently planned. One of these exciting projects is the niu Sparrow in Regensburg, located at Kirchmeierstrasse 8. The design for the new hotel of this unique midscale brand is being jointly developed by NOVUM Hospitality and the interior designers Bachhuber Contract GmbH & Co KG. The niu Sparrow is thus the first hotel of the NOVUM Group to open in Regensburg and offers a perfect starting point for seeing Regensburg, with the railway station, cathedral and city centre all within walking distance. The current plan is for guests to be able to check into the 258 rooms from August 2019.
