This Spring, the Irish Hotels Federation plans to make searching for accommodation in Ireland much easier on travellers. In partnership with TrustYou, the global leader in online reputation management (ORM), the Irish Hotels Federation will feature hotel TrustScores on their consumer website, IrelandHotels.com. A hotel's TrustScore is a figure determined by compiling guest feedback across all review sites to measure how a hotel is ranked. PhoCusWright Conference Expands to Dublin, Ireland, in Spring 2014

Ireland - a 2013 market snapshot and the outlook for 2014 and beyond

The projections for 2014 are positive. Hotels throughout the regions are reporting an increase in booking pace. RevPAR in the Dublin market is forecast to continue to increase, albeit at a slower pace.

Hilton Worldwide today announced that it has signed a franchise agreement with Martinez Hotels & Resorts to bring its upscale DoubleTree by Hilton brand to Ireland. Since opening its first European hotel in 2008, DoubleTree by Hilton now has almost 60 properties trading or under development across the region.

Interstate Hotels & Resorts to Manage The 187-room Marker Hotel in Dublin, Ireland

ARLINGTON, Va., May 24, 2012 – Interstate Hotels & Resorts today announced that it has entered into a management agreement for The Marker, Dublin"s newest luxury hotel and apartment complex. Located in the heart of the city"s new business and cultural district at Grand Canal Dock, the 187-room hotel is anticipated to open in early 2013. The Marker Hotel is owned by Brehon Capital Partners, a real estate private equity firm, together with Midwest Holdings, its investment partner. It is the 27th managed or signed hotel agreement in Europe for Interstate Hotels & Resorts, and joins other Interstate-managed or signed world-class independent hotels and resorts such as Éilan Hotel Resort & Spa, Texas; J Hotel at Shanghai Tower, China; the Rajasthali Resort & Spa, India; Streamsong, Florida; and The Charles Hotel at Harvard Square, Massachusetts.

Sam Shepherd has been appointed Group HR Manger for Jurys Inn reporting into HR Director, Jennifer Lee. Sam has worked in HR for over 15 years mostly within the retail sector. Her most recent role was with Tesco Stores Ltd where she held a Group HR role in the UK. She then took on a project for the company in Malaysia supporting the transfer of over 100 employees from Makro to Tesco in Kuala Lumpur. In 2007 Sam was promoted and moved to Ireland to take up her new role as Head of HR for Retail at Tesco Ireland.
