Dorsett Hospitality International announces soft opening of the Dorsett Hartamas Kuala Lumpur

Dorsett Hospitality International is pleased to announce the soft opening of its latest hotel asset in Kuala Lumpur……the Dorsett Hartamas Kuala Lumpur on 8th August 2018 with an opening rate of RM200 nett per room night in a Superior Room, valid till 15th December 2018. Located in the affluent township of Hartamas with the majestic Istana Negara (National Palace) as its neighbourhood landmark, the 4-star Dorsett Hartamas Kuala Lumpur boast of 290 well-designed and furnished guestrooms and suites. When fully operational, other facilities will include the 158 seats all-day dining café cum lounge Table Talk, 3 multi-functional venues of varying capacities (120 to 40 persons on theatre set-up), a fitness studio and a kids' play pen amongst others. The Rooftop Sky Pool at Level 27 will open at a later stage and when ready will offer a breath-taking view of Hartamas and Kuala Lumpur skyline, day or night.

Noor Yusof has been appointed as Hotel Manager at Silka Johor Bahru

Dorsett Hospitality International is pleased to announce the promotion of Noor Yusof Sanusi to Hotel Manager of Silka Johor Bahru. In his new capacity, Yusof will not only oversee the daily operations of Silka Johor Bahru but is also responsible in providing strategic direction to ensure the smooth and profitable operation of the hotel. Yusof brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He joined Dorsett Kuala Lumpur as Front Office Manager in February 1996 and was transferred to Silka Maytower Kuala Lumpur as the Front Office Manager in January 2009. From there, he moved up the ranks to become the Hotel's Director of Operations, overseeing the day-to-day running and manning of the hotel including but not limited to Housekeeping function, Front Desk, F & B and kitchen operations.

Robert Lagerwey has been appointed as General Manager at Hotel Equatorial Kuala Lumpur

Hotel Equatorial proudly announces the appointment of Robert Lagerwey as the General Manager for its brand new hotel, located on Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. Robert brings 25 years of leadership experience and dedication to the hospitality industry to his new role within Hotel Equatorial. Robert was recently with Pontiac Land Group for 7 years under the hospitality and real estate division, where he held various positions including Regional Vice President of Operations for the Capella Hotel Group Asia and General Manager of Capella Singapore. Robert's degree in Hospitality from Hotelschool The Hague provided him with a solid foundation for his success. Starting as a dishwasher and working his way up ensured that he knew the ins and outs of what makes a hotel work and providing great service. His career soared and was soon working for numerous independent and chain hotels in Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, London, Bali, Seoul, Singapore, and most notably the Ritz-Carlton Singapore and BVLGARI Bali in the early 2000s. Robert's passion for service excellence is contagious and his efforts were recognised when he was awarded by Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards (HAPA) as General Manager of the Year in Asia and Most Dynamic General Manager in Indonesia. On top of that, Robert was formerly Chairman of the Bali Hotel Association. Also, during his time at Capella Singapore, the hotel was awarded the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Rating several years in a row.

Hairul Maharis has been appointed as General Manager at Mövenpick Hotel & Convention Centre KLIA

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has appointed Hairul Maharis as General Manager of the Mövenpick Hotel & Convention Centre KLIA, which is on track to open mid-2018.A highly experienced hospitality professional, Hairul has worked with some of the industry's most respected brands over the course of his 25-year career, including Le Méridien, Sheraton, and Best Western. He also has a strong background in the management of airport hotels, having previously overseen the Tune Hotel klia2 and, most recently, ISG Airport Hotel in Istanbul.Having graduated from the University of Derby in the UK, Hairul returned to his native Malaysia in 1994 to start a career in hospitality. He worked for several major hotel chains before being appointed Director of Sales at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur in 2004 and achieved his first General Manager role with Suria Resorts Management in 2006. Hairul later oversaw the opening of the Best Western Premier hotel in Ipoh, before becoming GM of the Tune Hotel at klia2. In 2015, he was appointed by Malaysian Airport Holdings Berhad (MAHB) to manage its hotel at Istanbul's Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, known as ISG Airport Hotel.

Masni Shaik Dali has been appointed as General Manager at Dorsett Grand Labuan

Dorsett Hospitality International is pleased to announce the recent appoint of Ms. Masni Shaik Dali as the new General Manager for the only 5-star hotel in Labuan, Dorsett Grand Labuan. Taking over the helm of this 178-room hotel from Susan Carlos, Masni brings with her a strong management and sales background and will prove to be a tremendous asset not only for the Group but also for this business and leisure hotel. In her current role, Masni who possessed more than 29 years of hospitality experience will play a pivotal role in driving the business of the hotel through the implementation of a strategic business plan, oversees the day-on-day operation of the hotel and will be responsible in ensuring that the hotel meet the revenue target for the year apart from ensuring that the service level and positioning of the hotel is consistently maintained in the market place. Masni was most recently the General Manager for Hotel Royal Penang. Prior to that, she had worked in Holiday Inn Resort Penang and Hydro Hotel Penang in the capacity of Director of Sales & Marketing.

Anders Dimblad has been appointed as General Manager at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur

A Swedish national, Anders is a veteran hotelier with over 19 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry. He returned to Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts in February 2016 as General Manager of Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur. This follows 10 years of successful management tenures with the Group from 2004 to 2014. Prior to joining Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur, Anders served as Vice President of Hospitality in DAMAC Hotels & Resorts, Dubai. Throughout the span of his career, Anders has been recognized for his leadership accomplishments on numerous occasions, such as being named one of the "Hotelier Middle East Power 50" for establishing himself as a leader in the hospitality industry in 2012 and 2013. In his current role with Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur, Anders will oversee the resort's daily operations and lead the team into launching the hotel and maximising guest satisfaction.

Shereen Chow has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur

In her role as Director of Sales & Marketing, Shereen will play an instrumental role in leading enterprising sales strategies to maximise hotel revenues and put the forthcoming hotel at the top of industry players' lists. With over 27 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Shereen has held directorial positions in the area of sales and marketing at one world hotel, The Saujana Kuala Lumpur and most recently, Hilton Worldwide - National Sales Office, Malaysia.

Tuarii Le Caill has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur

Tuarii, a Tahitian who has extensive overseas experience having held directorial roles in the area of food and beverage at the Mandarin Oriental Group in Boston and Switzerland, as well as the Director of Outlets of the W Hotel in San Francisco. Leveraging on his regional experiences, Tuarii will be responsible for the daily operations and management work of Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur's restaurant and bar operations, including French-inspired bakery Bake by Banyan Tree, sky high afternoon tea and wine lounge, Altitude, the exquisite steakhouse Horizon Grill, and the highest hotel rooftop bar in the city centre, Vertigo.

Azizan Mohd has been appointed as Executive Housekeeper at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur

With 24 years of housekeeping duties and hospitality experience under his belt, Azizan will be helming the housekeeping team at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur. Prior to this role, he has worked in numerous hotels and resort housekeeping teams, including DoubleTree by Hilton and the Hilton Hotels and Resorts Group, The St. Regis Hotel and Residences, Sheraton Subang Hotel and Towers, as well as the Sunway Putra Hotel.
