Moxy Hotels Debuts in the Arctic Playground of Tromsø

Moxy Hotels, the playful experiential hotel brand part of Marriott Bonvoy's portfolio of 31 extraordinary brands, has opened Moxy Tromsø in Northern Norway. Operated by Core Hospitality A/S, the hotel marks the northernmost property in Marriott Bonvoy's global portfolio. Tromsø is famed for its beautiful winter landscapes and mesmerising Northern Light displays, with summer adventures benefiting from the midnight sun and 24-hour sunlight.

Scandic to open new hotel in Ski outside of Oslo

Scandic Hotels has signed an agreement for a new hotel in Ski outside of Oslo, Norway. The hotel will be centrally located beside the train station and with 15 floors, it will be a new landmark in the city. In addition to 220 rooms, the hotel, which is expected to open in 2026, will also offer meeting facilities and a rooftop bar with panoramic views of the city.

Radisson RED opens new sustainable design hotel in Oslo

Situated in the buzzing, new sustainable community of Økern Portal and only 15 minutes from Oslo Central Station, Radisson RED Oslo Økern is part of a large sustainability-focused business area, which includes Northern Europe's biggest rooftop garden where herbs and vegetables are grown and used by the hotel and wider area's restaurants. The hotel has been certified with an Excellent rating from BREEAM, one of the world's leading science-based systems to determine the sustainability of buildings. It considers a building's low impact design and carbon emissions, adaption to climate change, and ecological value and biodiversity protection. The hotel has an A class energy rating, meaning its energy level will not exceed 140 Kwh/sqm, and it uses rainfall catchers to water its rooftop garden. Additionally, the Økern Portal community has its own energy wells that produce 90% of the heating for the entire development.

Juana Di Carlo has been promoted to Sales Manager at Moxy Bergen

It has been less than a year since Moxy Bergen opened on the waterfront of Bergen's Solheimsviken area. An odd time to open a hotel. But Core Hospitality, the operator of Moxy Bergen, is optimistic about the future of the industry and wants to secure its share of the market when travelers return to the Gateway to the Fjords. The company has now internally promoted a Crew Member at the hotel, Juana Di Carlo, to take the lead on sales for the hotel. Juana has a strong background from the hospitality industry with more than 20 years of experience from companies such as Holiday Inn, Starwood Hotels & Resorts (now Marriott), and First Hotels.

Scandic to open third hotel in Tromsø

Scandic Hotels has signed a long-term lease agreement with property owner Totaleiendom AS for a new hotel with 305 rooms on 12 floors in the new Vervet area in Tromsø, Norway. Scandic already operates two hotels in the city with a total of 390 hotel rooms. The new hotel, which is expected to open in 2025, will be an important addition to meet the demand from the growing leisure segment.

Construction of Moxy Hotels begins in Tromso

Moxy Hotels is coming soon to the arctic capital of Tromso. Construction has begun and the hotel is expected to open its doors in 2023. Moxy Hotels announced back in 2019 that the brand would launch in Tromso, Norway. Construction of the international lifestyle hotel has now begun with a scheduled opening in the first half of 2023. The 200 rooms will be certified by BREEAM as a sustainable building and by Green Key for sustainable operations.

Nordic Hotels & Resorts announced today that it is bringing one of Oslo's most iconic buildings back to life as Sommerro - a new luxury hotel set to open its doors in September 2022. With panoramic views of the Norwegian capital, Sommerro is housed in the former headquarters of Oslo Lysverker, the city's original electrical company, and will be a modern tribute to Norwegian cultural heritage, revolutionizing the city's hospitality landscape with a strong focus on eco-conscious experiences. A community in its own right, the 231-room art deco hotel, complete with 56 branded residences, will boast four restaurants and three bars, meeting and event spaces with capacity for up to 150 people, a 200-seat gilded theatre, a gym and wellness space, and the city's first year-round rooftop pool, sauna, and terrace.

Hotel operator Core Hospitality has hired a local Sales Manager to represent its upcoming Moxy Bergen property.Marriott International's Moxy Hotels is due to open on the waterfront of Bergen in Norway soon. Now, the lifestyle hotel has hired Kristin Torgersen to take on the new role as Sales Manager. Kristin is from Bergen and has a strong background from the hospitality and tourism industry with more than 14 years of sales experience from companies such as Nordic Choice Hotels and Cruisespesialisten.

Monica Selvik has been appointed as General Manager at Moxy Bergen

The hotel operator Core Hospitality has appointed Monica Selvik as General Manager of upcoming hotel Moxy Bergen. The international brand opens in the Norwegian city in six months. Monica Selvik takes on the role as "Captain" (General Manager in Moxy speak) at Moxy Bergen, a 199-room hotel that opens in March 2021 on the Norwegian west coast. Monica has more than 30 years' experience from the hotel industry in a plurality of positions from receptionist and revenue manager to hotel manager and sales director. Her experience is mainly from Bergen where she has worked for Nordic Choice Hotels, First Hotels, Thon Hotels and Magic Hotels.

Scandic to take over hotel in Stavanger

On October 1, 2019, Scandic will take over the operations of Radisson Blu Royal in Stavanger, Norway. The hotel, which is ideally located in downtown Stavanger, will target business and leisure travelers as well as local residents. After the takeover, the hotel will change name to Scandic Royal Stavanger.
