Samara Gonzalez has been appointed as Spa Director at El San Juan Hotel

Trilogy Spa Holdings announces the appointment of Samara Gonzalez as spa director of Well & Being Spa at El San Juan Hotel. Bringing a diverse background of retail, marketing and spa industry experience to this new role, Gonzalez will implement business-driving initiatives and marketing strategies to transform the newest Well & Being location into Puerto Rico’s top destination spa for both locals and visiting tourists.A San Juan native, Gonzalez returns to her roots after working in district management for top lifestyle brands including Pacific Sunwear, Claire’s Accessories and Victoria’s Secret. Through her retail experience, Gonzalez gained an understanding of property leadership and sales strategies, which led her to her most recent role as a marketing director for Sunset World Hotel & Resorts in Mexico, where she was responsible for designing new sales and merchandising strategies, managing budget relations and incentivizing staff. In her new role, Samara will blend her knowledge of both business and beauty, encouraging fellow team members, hotel guests and staff to live a life inspired by health and wellness.

Jose Gonzalez-Espinosa, General Manager of San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, has been named Area General Manager for Puerto Rico. In his new position, Gonzalez will continue in his role as General Manager at the 527-room San Juan Marriott Resort, while also overseeing The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan and Sheraton San Juan. He will also act as the liaison to Marriott International franchise partners and will work with area and market organizations and Marriott’s Business Council leader to maximize market performance.

Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Beach Resort & Spa announces the appointment of seasoned hospitality professional Nils Stolzlechner as general manager. Timothy Arnold has been named Managing Director Food and Beverage at El San Juan Hotel

El San Juan Hotel is pleased to announce Timothy Arnold as Managing Director of Food and Beverage. Arnold brings more than 25 years of luxury resort, hotel and restaurant experience to the multimillion dollar renovation. In his new role, Arnold will oversee all aspects of El San Juan Hotel’s food and beverage operations including the resort’s nine award-winning restaurants, 15 bars and in room dining programming.Prior to joining the El San Juan Hotel, Arnold served in various roles launching and growing luxury hospitality operations, including Director of Food and Beverage at the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort, a Four-Diamond resort home to eight restaurants and bars in Hollywood Beach, Florida. Previously, Arnold managed all aspects of food and beverage operations at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida as well as at China Grill Management where he was responsible for overseeing all China Grill and Mondrian Hotel operations and future development projects in South Florida. Arnold drew on his previous experience at Canyon Ranch where he opened their $650 million wellness living community and all-suite hotel in Miami Beach.

An established leader in the hospitality industry, Piedra brings 23 years of outstanding leadership experience in hotel management and sales to the oceanfront property.Prior to his current role, Piedra held positions at several four-diamond properties, convention hotels and multi-unit oceanfront resorts across the United States and the Caribbean. No stranger to Wyndham properties, Piedra most recently served as the general manager for The Shelborne Wyndham Grand South Beach in Miami. There, he provided strategic direction to both the executive committee and a team of 200 associates, spearheading high profile events such as Art Basel and Miami Music Week while increasing revenue by an estimated $6 million from the previous year. Over the last 18 years, Piedra has held seven management roles including general manager, rooms division manager, guest services manager, front office manager, and night manager for various hotels and resorts spanning the country. Peidra served as the general manager for W South Beach, Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort & Spa and Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel.
