Hilton Announces Plans for a Stunning Beach Resort Hotel in Odessa
Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has signed a franchise agreement with Gefest Group, one of the largest real estate developers in the Odessa region, to build a new 145-room resort on the beachfront in the popular port city of Odessa, Ukraine. The hotel, due to open in spring 2025, will be managed by Cyprus based Millennium Hospitality and located near the famous Arcadia entertainment area.

On the shores of the Black Sea, Radisson Hotel City Centre Odesa opens as Radisson Hotel Group's 7th hotel in Ukraine in operation and under development. With an excellent location on the famous Derybasivska Street, Radisson Hotel City Centre Odesa unlocks the cosmopolitan city of Odesa, full of architectural styles, international cuisines and beautiful Black Sea beaches. With the opening of this new property, Radisson Hotel Group now has 1,445 guest rooms in operation and under development in Ukraine and opens its first Radisson branded hotel not only in Odesa, but in the country.
Horwath HTL Sentiment Survey: Ukraine Hotel Market & COVID-19 Impact
The first hotel market sentiment survey conducted in Ukraine as a combined effort of the Ukrainian Hotel & Resort Association (UHRA) and Horwath HTL Hungary. The report gives an overview on how much the local hotel industry has been impacted by COVID-19 and what local hoteliers believe the future holds. The results are somewhat surprising as in some instances they are more optimistic than what we have experienced elsewhere in CEE.

Jesper Henriksen has been appointed as General Manager at Radisson Blu Hotel, Kyiv, Ukraine
Jesper, who is Danish, joined Rezidor in April 1997 as Opening Director of Sales at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Abu Dhabi. In 1997 he moved to Nice, France and started to work as Director of Sales at the Radisson SAS Hotel. In 1999 he was promoted to District Director of Sales in Southern France. He held this position until his transfer to Executive Assistant Manager at the Radisson SAS Montfleury Hotel in Cannes. In 2002 he was appointed General Manager of the Radisson SAS Park Lane Hotel in Antwerp, Belgium. After two years, he was promoted to General Manager at the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel in Brussels, Belgium. In December 2006, he moved to Paris as he was appointed General Manager at the Radisson Blu Hotel at Disneyland Paris, France. In August 2009, he started as General Manager (Pre-opening + Opening) at the Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel in Sandton Johannesburg, a position he held until his transfer to General Manager of the Radisson Royal Ukraina Hotel in Moscow. In June 2014, he was appointed General Manager of the Corinthia Hotel St Petersburg. Jesper has been working as General Manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel Beijing, which is his most recent position. Furthermore, Jesper completed the Rezidor Mentor Mentee Program with guidance from his mentor Michel Stalport.

InterContinental Kiev announces the appointment of Jean Baptiste Pigeon as new General Manager. Jean Baptiste joined InterContinental Group (IHG) in 1983. He undertook his first appointment as General Manager in 1996 at the Europa InterContinental Brussels. Since then he had several other key General Manager positions including the InterContinental Beirut, InterContinental Regency Bahrain and the InterContinental Yokohama Grand Japan. Marriott International to Open First Hotel in Ukraine
Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) announced that it will open its first hotel in Ukraine, the 173-room Renaissance Kiev Hotel, under a management agreement with Subsidiary Enterprise Grand Plaza. The hotel is expected to open in mid-2013 following an extension and renovation of the existing historic building formerly known as the Leipzig Hotel. Renaissance Hotels represents the signature lifestyle brand within the Marriott International global portfolio. Recognized for its signature guest programs including R Navigator and RLife LIVE, Renaissance Hotels currently has 35 hotels throughout Europe.
