Hicham Hassouni has been appointed as VP development, Middle East at Rosewood Hotel Group

Mr. Hassouni has over 15 years experience in hotel development in key Middle East markets among which eight years were spent in Dubai in senior positions including vice president of development, Middle East & Africa at Fairmont Raffles Hotels International; senior director of development, Middle East at AccorHotels Group and vice president of hotels, Middle East & Africa at Jones Lang LaSalle. Previously, he was senior manager and member of the executive committee at Colliers International in Morocco, establishing the company’s real estate and hospitality advisory business unit. He began his career as financial auditor with KPMG in France after graduating from NEOMA Business School with a master’s degree in management.

Ahmad Shaban has been appointed as Area Director of Sales and Marketing, Middle East & Africa at Meliá Hotels International

Ahmad Shaban-Fernandez who was appointed as the area director of sales and marketing, Middle East & Africa in October 2016. Shaban-Fernandez also hails from Jordan and has represented the likes of Rotana in the United Arab Emirates, Marriott International in Kuwait and Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Intercontinental Hotel Group in Jordan.

Marnus Strydom has been appointed as Recreation Manager at Hili Rayhaan by Rotana Hotel

Marnus Strydom has been transferred as Recreation Manager to Hili Rayhaan by Rotana Hotel in Al Ain. Prior to this, Marnus was the Assistant Director of Recreation in Al Ain Rotana. Marnus graduated from the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, South Africa with a degree in business management and Human Movement Science, he also completed various sport specific courses such as rehabilitation massage, rugby and athletics coaching. He started his career at Supersport health and fitness club as a personal trainer and was subsequently promoted to various positions such as sales executive and Duty Manager of the facility. In 2012 Marnus was part of the pre-opening team of Al Ghurair Rayhaan and Arjaan by Rotana and occupied the role of Fitness trainer and supervisor. In 2014 Marnus was promoted and transferred to the city of Al Ain to further his career in Rotana as Assistant Director of Recreation. He earmarks his work ethic, will to succeed and innovative thinking as his greatest assets and having been in the industry of Fitness and wellness for over 9 years, he brings with him a wealth of experience and a cutting edge to current trends within the market.

Richard Alexander has been appointed as General Manager at Jumeirah Al Naseem

Jumeirah has announced the executive team tasked with managing the 1 December opening of Madinat Jumeirah’s newest hotel Jumeirah Al Naseem, the 430-room ‘resort within a resort’ that completes the ‘Arabian Resort of Dubai’. General Manager, Richard Alexander, returns to Dubai and Jumeirah Group after eight years working internationally in the Caribbean, Las Vegas and London. British national Richard has more than 30 years’ luxury hotel experience and is very familiar with Madinat Jumeirah having been Jumeirah Mina A’ Salam’s General Manager in 2008. His career has taken him and his family around the world, from Spain to Greece, Japan, USA, Australia and Indonesia. Richard brings a fresh approach to service and a desire to surprise and exceed guests’ expectations and perceptions of the Dubai of today.

Kaesta Mcfee has been promoted to Executive Chef at Centro Capital Centre

Mr Kaesta Mcfee, who previously held the role of Executive Chef for Centro Capital Centre has now been promoted as Cluster Executive Chef for Capital Centre Arjaan and Centro Capital Centre. A Canadian national, Chef Kaesta brings with him more than 20 years of experience in international cuisines having worked with Hotel Chains in Singapore and Canada prior to relocating to UAE. Being with Centro for more than 2 years, he is well versed with the brand standards and has been a significant contributor in overlooking the Kitchens operations in compliance with the highest levels.
