Sue joined Raffles Dubai as Director of Sales & Marketing in March 2010, having relocated to Dubai from the UK in 1998. Since moving to Dubai, Sue has held senior positions at first-class hotels across the city. She was Assistant Director of Sales at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, guiding the property through its opening, and later promoted to Director of Sales at Emirates Towers. In 2001, Sue took up the position of Director of Business Development & Marketing with Burj Al Arab, later becoming Director of Commerical Development, Global Sales.

Fitzner, a German national, started her hospitality career in 1988 at the Inter-Continental Cologne and first joined Rezidor in 1992 as the Director of Sales & Marketing at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Dusseldorf. Fitzner’s first general manager’s position came in 2000 at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Hannover before in 2007, while holding the general manager role at the Radisson Blu Centrum Hotel, Warsaw, she was promoted to district director of Poland, overseeing six hotels. In 2010 Fitzner made the move from Europe to the UAE as General Manager at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dubai Deira Creek where she was responsible for over 600 employees at the 276 room and 16 F&B venue hotel.

Fetz brings 25 years of international management experience in luxury hotels and resorts around the world. Before moving to the UAE, Fetz worked in Royal Wing Pattaya, Thailand, Palmeraie Golf Palace Marrakech, Morocco, Siam City Hotel Bangkok, Thailand, The Residence Tunis Tunisia and The American Colony Hotel Jerusalem. In his new role, Paolo will lead the pre-opening team and will be responsible for the overall operation for Oceanic Resort & Spa Khorfakan in Sharjah.
A Lebanese national, Ossama brings with him a solid background in sales in the hospitality industry, with more than 20 years' experience around the region. Ossama began his career within various F&B and sales positions in Dubai. From 1998 until 2007, he worked for Marriott properties in Dubai, including JW Marriott , Marriot Executive Apartments and Courtyard by Marriott, where he took up to the position of cluster senior sales manager. Then in 2007, he joined to Monarch Hotel - currently known as H Hotel – where he worked during the opening as assistant director of business development. In 2008, Ossama moved to Hyatt Regency and Galleria Dubai where he worked as an associate director of sales. His latest position prior joining the Radisson Royal Hotel Dubai was director of sales, MICE for Millennium Plaza Hotel, Dubai.
Nigel Tisdall recently visited the JW Marriott Marquis in Dubai, the world's tallest hotel, which opened last month. It is 355 metres tall and has 1,608 rooms split between two identical towers. The jagged design is inspired by the trunk of a date palm. Surprisingly perhaps, given its size, the decor within is "quiet and understated". Views, of course, are superb.
