Eduard Pöllitzer has been appointed as Exhibition manager of hotel, tourism and leisure trade shows in Europe at Reed Exhibitions Ltd

Pöllitzer will be managing the Alles für den Gast Herbst Salzburg exhibition in November, which attracts around 46,000 visitors a year and focuses on companies involved in the hotel and restaurant sectors. He will also run the Hotel & Gast exhibition in Vienna, next held in March 2014. He has previously worked for food and beverage companies, including Brau Union, Rauch – fruit juices, and Felix Austria. His most recent role was international key account manager responsible for exports at WIBERG, the Salzburg herb and spice manufacturer. Pöllitzer takes over from Arne Petersen, and will report directly to Gernot Blaikner, group exhibitions director at Reed Exhibitions.

Jurgen Ammerstorfer has been appointed as Hotel Manager at Shangri-La at the Shard

Former Trafalgar Hotel general manager Jurgen Ammerstorfer has been appointed hotel manager of Shangri-La at the Shard, the luxury hotel which is set to occupy the 34th to 52nd floors of Western Europe's tallest building The Shard. Working alongside executive vice president and general manager Darren Gearing, Ammerstorfer will be responsible for the day-to-day management and overseeing operations of the 202-bedroom hotel, which was originally setto open this summer, , before being pushed back to 'sometime in Q4' in May Before working at The Trafalgar, Ammerstorfer was general manager at Celebrity Cruises in Miami. The rest of his 13-year career has seen him work for Hilton in Egypt and Kuwait and for Preferred Hotels' Plaza on the River - Club and Residence, London and as banquet manager at The Leading Hotels of the World’s five-star Westgate Hotel in San Diego.

Majella Baldacchino has been appointed as Director of Sales at Coworth Park

Bringing 11 years’ experience to the role, Berkshire local Majella Baldacchino began as director of sales for Coworth Park on 19 August 2013, responsible for driving events, groups, corporate and leisure business to the hotel. Majella joins from InterContinental London Park Lane where she led the corporate sales team as business development director and crossed the world meeting with corporate, MICE and luxury clients. Other sales positions were held at Conrad London and Jurys Doyle Hotel Group. Reporting to Majella, young talent Emily Beach has been promoted to sales executive for Coworth Park from a previous executive position with the group and events team for the three UK hotels.

Paul Spencer has been appointed as General Manager at Holiday Inn Mayfair

Paul brings a wealth of knowledge with more than 13 years’ experience in the hospitality sector. He joins the team at the hotel in central London, following a successful career with QHotels where he oversaw three properties as Regional General Manager, and was also General Manager at the Forest Pines Resort. Paul began his career as Deputy General Manager for De Vere, before joining Macdonald Hotels as General Manager, working across several of their four star hotel and spa resorts across the UK.

Jennifer Fox has been appointed as president, International at FRHI

FRHI, the parent company of luxury and upper upscale hotel brands Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Raffles Hotels & Resorts and Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, today announced several appointments to its senior leadership team. Jennifer Fox has been promoted to president, International, while also maintaining her position as president, Fairmont Brand. In this newly created role, Fox will relocate to Zurich and lead hotel operations for FRHI's International division, which includes the sub regions of Europe, Middle East, Africa & India and Asia Pacific. With the company projecting 50% growth over the next five years, much of it internationally, Fox will also oversee the company's Hotel Openings & Integration team.

Adam Munday has been appointed as General Manager at Hotel Indigo Birmingham

Interstate Hotels & Resorts has appointed a new general manager for its flagship hotel and restaurant in Birmingham city centre. Mr Munday, who previously opened Hotel Indigo in Newcastle has been appointed as general manager of Hotel Indigo Birmingham and its Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill restaurant. He has 18 years experience in hospitality and has been working for Interstate Hotels & Resorts for two years.

Fergus O'Donovan has been appointed as General Manager at Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel

The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group – one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups – has appointed Fergus O’Donovan as the General Manager of the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel, Jersey. Fergus, who is Irish, has a solid background in the hospitality industry, spanning 30 years. Having studied in Ireland, Fergus learnt the trade working in various positions within hotels across the UK and Ireland.

Ian Dyson has been appointed as independent Non-Executive Director at InterContinental Hotels Group PLC

Ian is currently a Non-Executive Director of Punch Taverns plc, a Non Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Betfair Group plc and, from 1 October 2013, he will be Senior Independent and Non-Executive Director of ASOS plc. Ian has held a number of senior executive and finance roles including Group Finance & Operations Director for Marks & Spencer Group plc for 5 years from 2005 to 2010, where he oversaw significant changes in the business. In addition, Ian was CEO of Punch Taverns plc, Finance Director for the Rank Group, and Group Financial Controller and Finance Director for the hotels division of the Hilton Group. Mr Dyson will serve as a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.
