Trish Berry has been appointed as General Manager at Ames Boston Hotel

Ames Boston Hotel, a luxurious boutique hotel that opened in 2007 following an extensive renovation, and the newest member of Curio – A Collection by Hilton, along with the newly merged Benchmark Resorts & Hotels and Gemstone Hotels and Resorts, is pleased to announce the appointment of hospitality veteran Trish Berry to the position of General Manager. As she assumes leadership of the iconic property known as “Boston’s first skyscraper,” Berry will draw on nearly 30 years of experience in the high-end hotel and residence industries.Most recently, Berry held General Manager positions at the AAA Four Diamond-rated Battery Wharf Hotel in Boston, where she oversaw a successful transition from a branded property (Fairmont) to a fully independent hotel, and The Ritz-Carlton Residences Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland, where she managed a sprawling 191 unit luxury condominium residence that included spa, marina and restaurant amenities. Previously, Berry resided in the Washington, D.C.-area and served as the General Manager of The Sports Club/LA, and General Manager of Hotel Monaco for Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group. Upon graduating from Clemson University, Berry launched her career in the hospitality sect with the prestigious Ritz-Carlton brand.

Mark Jeffery has been appointed as General Manager at the Sheraton Needham

Waterton, a U.S. real estate investor and operator, today announced it has appointed Mark Jeffery as general manager of the Sheraton Needham Hotel in Needham, Mass. A 30-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Jeffery will be responsible for overall operations of the 247-key hotel, leading a team of 110 on-site associates.Jeffery most recently spent five years as general manager of the Boston Newton Marriott, repositioning the property through effective management practices and a strategic budget and capital plan that boosted all major financial performance metrics. He previously served as general manager of the Renaissance Boston at Patriot Place Hotel & Spa, leading the award-winning opening of the hotel in 2009. Prior to that, he held various positions with Marriott International Inc., one of which included auditing hotels in the United Kingdom, dating back to 1999. As senior director of operations for Marriott’s Eastern region, his most recent role with the company, he oversaw a portfolio of 43 hotels located between Pennsylvania and Maine, achieving the highest-ever guest satisfaction rating for the area.Jeffery holds a bachelor’s degree in hotel management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Isenberg School of Management. Throughout his career, he has earned numerous awards on both a personal and property level, including “General Manager of the Year” and “Hotel Opening of the Year.” Outside of his professional responsibilities in the hospitality industry, Jeffery has served on the boards of both the Newton-Needham Regional Chamber of Commerce and Arts & Business Council of Boston.

Glenn Sampert has been appointed as General Manager at The Liberty, a Luxury Collection Hotel

The Liberty, a Luxury Collection Hotel announces the appointment of Glenn Sampert as general manager of the Beacon Hill property. Sampert’s duties will include leading the hotel’s strategic direction, project management and owner relations; he will also oversee operations of the 298-room luxury hotel, including rooms, restaurants and bars, property operations and special events, including the hotel’s signature ‘Liberty Affairs’ programming.

Larry Casillo has been appointed as General Manager at The Godfrey Hotel, Boston
