Cambria Hotels Continues to Grow Austin, Texas Presence with Groundbreaking

Cambria Hotels, an upscale brand franchised by Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH), continues to rapidly expand around the country with the official start of construction on the Cambria Hotel Austin Downtown in Austin, Texas. The 14-story, 212-room hotel is expected to open in the summer of 2023, joining other properties in the state capital that are anticipated to open this year, including the Cambria Hotel Austin Airport and Cambria Hotel North Austin Near The Domain. The brand currently has six open hotels across the state located in Dallas, Houston, McAllen, Plano, Richardson and Southlake. Representatives from Choice Hotels, developer Stratus Development Partners, and local dignitaries attended the groundbreaking to commemorate the occasion.

Loews Hotels & Co, a wholly owned subsidiary of Loews Corporation (NYSE: L), has officially broken ground on the new $550 million Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center. Executives from the company were joined by Arlington Mayor Jim Ross, former Mayor Jeff Williams, Chairman & Managing Partner of the Texas Rangers Ray Davis, The Cordish Companies' Director of Communications, Cari Furman, along with members of the Arlington City Council and other community and business leaders, to recognize and celebrate this milestone.

New Waterloo Announces Albert Hotel On Historic Main Street In Fredericksburg, Texas

New Waterloo , an independent hospitality development, design, and management company, is announcing its latest project, Albert Hotel. Located at 242 East Main Street in Fredericksburg, Texas, Albert Hotel is a historic preservation effort with four late 19th century buildings and a newly constructed hotel with event, spa, and restaurant space. Slated to open in late summer 2022, Albert Hotel is named for architect, historic preservationist, and general man-about-town Albert Kiedel, who left quite an impression on the city of Fredericksburg. Albert's great-grandfather Dr. Wilhelm Keidel came to Fredericksburg as the town doctor and judge in 1847, the year after the town was founded. His father, Victor Keidel, was a doctor and pharmacist beloved by the community, famous for riding his palomino at the head of the centennial parade. The hotel is located on the site where the Keidel family pharmacy and homestead remain, both of which will be integrated into the new site plan.
