Fabio Pari-Di-Monriva has been appointed as Director of Operations at Hilton Hartford

Waterford Hotel Group appointed Fabio Pari-Di-Monriva as the director of operations for the 393-room Hilton Hotel in Hartford, Conn. Pari-Di-Monriva will oversee the rooms and food-and-beverage departments of the hotel, including budgeting, scheduling, associate training and development, inventory and adherence to all Hilton and Waterford Hotel Group standards. Waterford Hotel Group professionally manages the Hilton Hartford.

Peter Nichols has been appointed as National Director at National Hospitality Group

Marcus & Millichap, a commercial real estate investment services firm, has named Peter Nichols as national director of its National Hospitality Group. Most recently, Nichols was SVP of business development with Richfield Hospitality. Nichols will be filling the role previosuly occupied by Gregory LaBerge, who is now Marcus & Millichap’s chief administrative officer. “Our clients in the hospitality sector will benefit greatly from Peter’s knowledge and leadership skills, as will the NHG’s investment specialists,” LaBerge said.

Nick Lorusso has been appointed as Director of Operations at Marriott Hartford Downtown

Marriott Hartford Downtown has announced the appointment of Nick Lorusso as their new Director of Operations. Ron Wichowski has been promoted to General Manager at Hilton Hartford

Waterford Hotel Group, Inc. has announced the promotion of Ron Wichowski to General Manager of the 393-room Hilton Hotel in Hartford, CT. As General Manager, Wichowski is responsible for all of the hotel's operations, sales and administration, as well as the more than 200 associates employed at the property. Michael Marques has been named General Manager at Shelton Hampton Inn

Officials of New Castle Hotels and Resorts, a leading hotel owner, operator and developer, today announced that Michael Marques has been named general manager of the 125-room Hampton Inn Shelton. Previously, he was the director of sales for two New Castle properties. In his new role he also will serve as area director of sales for Hampton Inn Shelton and the Westport Inn, in nearby Westport, Conn. Prior to joining New Castle in 2009 as the director of sales for the Tarrytown, NY SpringHill Suites by Marriott, Marques was with Marriott International for10 years, serving as the director of sales at the Courtyard by Marriott in Norwalk, Conn. and the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Danbury, Conn.

Liberty Ferrell has been appointed as Sales Manager at the Hampton Inn Shelton

Officials of New Castle Hotels and Resorts, a leading hotel owner, operator and developer, today announced the promotion of Liberty Ferrell to group sales manager for the 125-room Shelton Hampton Inn. Previously Ferrell was the hotel's front office manager. In her new role, Ferrell will be responsible for corporate and social groups and will serve as the hotel's community liaison.

Kristen Pikula has been appointed as General Manager at Courtyard Hartford Cromwell

Pikula, a hospitality industry veteran with more than 15 years' experience, joins the Cromwell team for her most recent position as General Manager at the Residence Inn Marriott in Southington, an award-winning property also managed by Waterford. During her tenure in Southington, Pikula led her team to win numerous awards from both Marriott International and Waterford, including Waterford's Team of the Year in 2010 and the company's prestigious Chairman's Award in 2012. Pikula once also previously held the position of Director of Sales for the Courtyard Cromwell, and brings a level of familiarly and experience to the recently renovated property.

Anish Patney has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton Hartford Hotel

With more than 15 years of hospitality experience, Patney has held numerous positions across several brands, including Marriott, Starwood and Hilton. He joined Waterford Hotel Group in 2005 as Director of Banquets for the Marriott Hartford Downtown in CT, where he was later promoted to Director of Food & Beverage. Patney had also previously served as Director of Operations for the full-service, 285-room Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa in Groton, CT. Patney joins the Hilton Hartford from his most recent role as General Manager for the 237-room Sheraton Hartford Hotel at Bradley Airport in Windsor Locks, CT, which under his direction achieved the top Guest Experience Index (GEI) score for all Sheraton hotels in North America earlier this year. Patney holds a Diploma from the Institute of Hotel Management and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in General Studies from the Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, a Master of Business Administration degree in Hospitality Administration from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI, and a Certificate in Restaurant Revenue Management from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.

Stuart Barwise has been appointed as General Manager at The Mayflower Grace

Stuart Barwise becomes General Manager of the newly acquired Mayflower Grace and Regional General Manager, New England. Ian Grant has been appointed Regional Food & Beverage Director, New England. Each brings a wealth of experience: Barwise has honed his expertise in the hospitality field over a period of 30 years, latterly in leadership positions at prestigious establishments including the White Barn Inn & Spa, Embassy Suites Hotel Portland and The Grand Wailea Resort in Maui, Hawaii, and as Vice President of Lodging and General Manager of the ski and golf resort, Sugarloaf. Christopher Heuisler has been named first RunWESTIN Concierge at Westin Hotels & Resorts

It’s the job runners have been training for all their lives and today, Westin Hotels & Resorts announced that Christopher Heuisler, a veteran runner who has competed in 25 marathons in 20 states, was chosen as the winner of its nationwide search for the first-ever RunWESTIN Concierge. Earlier this year Westin launched a search for an experienced, passionate runner to join them on the road and serve as the on-site running expert for Westin VIPs participating in select Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon series events. Christopher beat more than 1,000 applicants to the finish line for the dream job after a month-long selection process that vetted final candidates through a series of application reviews and in-person interviews. Christopher will make his first official appearance as the RunWESTIN Concierge this weekend at the Philadelphia Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon. On September 21-22, Westin guests participating in the Montreal Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon will have the first opportunity to take part in the VIP Marathon Package with Christopher as the official on-site running expert.

Steve Matiatos has been appointed as General Manager at Courtyard by Marriott

Waterford Hotel Group recently announced the appointment of Steve Matiatos as General Manager of the Courtyard by Marriott in Cromwell, CT. The 145-room Courtyard, which recently completed a major renovation of its lobby, is managed by Waterford Hotel Group, a national hotel and convention center management firm.As General Manager, Matiatos will oversee all operational, sales and administrative aspects of the property. His prior hospitality management experience includes General Manager positions for Radisson hotels in both Merrimack, NH and New London, CT, and the Courtyard Marriott in Danbury, CT. Matiatos also served as Transition Team Manager – Detroit Region for Sage Hospitality Resources and District Director for Buffalo Lodging Associates. He joins the Courtyard Cromwell team from his most recent position as General Manager for the Hilton Garden Inn in Shelton, CT.
