Okan Karadağ has been appointed as General Manager at Art Ovation Hotel, Autograph Collection

Art Ovation Hotel, downtown Sarasota's signature hotel of the arts, has announced Okan Karadağ as the new General Manager of the creative 162-room Autograph Collection Hotel. Karadağ will oversee all aspects of the hotel, including daily operations, staff development, financial strategies, budgeting, increasing sales and revenue, and overall guest satisfaction.Karadağ joins Art Ovation with an extensive hospitality background, spending the past 19 years holding general manager and director of sales and marketing roles within domestic and international properties. He most recently served as the general manager of the Radisson Hotel Nashville, where he oversaw a $12 million renovation and improved the property's guest experience, which resulted in a 13 spot increase in its TripAdvisor ranking. Additionally, the property was awarded "Hotel of the Year" in 2017 for the Radisson Hotel Group under his leadership.Born and raised in Turkey, Karadağ began his hospitality tenure at the Renaissance Polat Istanbul Hotel, where he served as sales and marketing manager for three years before he advanced to director of sales and marketing at The Marmara Istanbul Hotel. He landed his first hotel general manager role at Room Mate Emir Hotel in Istanbul and proceeded to gain extensive knowledge in increasing revenue and elevating the guest experience.Radisson Hotel Group soon tapped him to oversee the opening of Radisson Blu Hotel, Istanbul Pera, which under his leadership was awarded "Franchise Hotel of the Year" in both 2014 and 2015 for the Rad isson Hotel Group. Soon after, Karadağ moved to New York City to manage Radisson's Cassa Hotel in the heart of Times Square, and worked as a dual general manager for both the Cassa Hotel and Radisson Nashville in 2018.

Ricardo Jarquin has been appointed as Executive Chef at W Miami

W Miami, recently named the #4 Miami Hotel in Conde Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards, is proud to introduce Ricardo Jarquin as executive chef. The award-winning chef will oversee all culinary operations for the hotel, including the curation of the menus for the hotel's signature restaurant, ADDiKT, the WET Deck Café at the newly reopened 15th floor pool, and in-room dining. He will also oversee operations for the B&F aspects of group bookings and events. Chef Jarquin joins W Miami from his previous position as executive chef of Silverado Resort, a Dolce Hotel, in Napa, California, where he led all food and beverage operations for the 350-room luxury resort. While at Miami High School, Chef Jarquin discovered his love of cooking after enrolling in a culinary arts program sponsored by prostart. This led to his introduction to executive chef of Palme d'Or, Philippe Ruiz, at the Biltmore Hotel, who then provided Chef Jarquin with his first job in the industry where he was eventually promoted to banquet chef. He further followed his passion by enrolling at Johnson & Wales University to receive his degree in Culinary Arts, and cut his teeth in kitchens with Miami culinary mavericks including Michelle Bernstein and Michael Schwartz. Chef Jarquin's career continued to be lined with success and accomplishments, earning his first role as executive chef in seven short years at ULU Ocean Grill in Four Seasons Hotel in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. He established himself as a force in the culinary world, working with Michelin star chefs such as Daniel Boulud and Jean Georges in New York City. Chef Jarquin landed executive chef roles at other top restaurants and hotels in major cities across the United States, including the Five Diamond rated Langham Hotel in Chicago.

Andrew Falter has been appointed as Director of Group Sales at Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa

With more than 30 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry, Falter bring extensive knowledge of the Mid-Atlantic, New York, and New England association markets to Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa. Prior to this role, Falter was founder and president of Sponsorship Reliance Group, a company designed to assist associations with growing sales revenue. He was previously the director of association sales at Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin and has held leadership positions within Tishman Hotel Corporation, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, and Hilton Hotels & Resorts.
